The sky was blue. <strong>Bobcat</strong> wasskiing down the mountain. Hehad an old purple scarf aroundhis neck. He had goggles overhis eyes.Then he heard a thud!3


<strong>Bobcat</strong> looked at the snow onhis arm. He said, “Oh! The snowis slipping down the mountain!I’ve got to try to get home to tellmy mother!”So <strong>Bobcat</strong> raced down themountain.4


On the way, <strong>Bobcat</strong> metOstrich. His skis were makinglines in the snow.“There’s no time for that!”said <strong>Bobcat</strong>. “The snow isslipping down the mountain! Wehave to get home!”5


“Oh, dear!” said Ostrich. “Wemust tell Elk.”So they raced down themountain. They met Elk as hewas leaping off a snow bank.“I can use a snow board toget down the mountain!” Elkyelled. “Do you want to watchme?”6


“There’s no time for that!”said Ostrich. “The snow isslipping down the mountain! Wehave to get home!”So they raced down themountain.7


At last, they were at the doorof Elk’s house. Then more snowhit <strong>Bobcat</strong>. Thud! It was asnowball!<strong>Bobcat</strong> turned to look at theCubs. They smiled as they ranup to him.“The snow isn’t slipping,” theCubs said. “It was us!”8


<strong>Bobcat</strong> grinned. He tossed asnowball back at the Cubs.Then they all tossedsnowballs. Thud! Thud! What abig snowball fight!9


Then <strong>Bobcat</strong> said, “This is alot of fun! But let’s go wash offall the snow before we go inside!”10
