center CAMP, YOUTH, TWEENS & TEENS Parking Lot Flow During Camp E. Jefferson St. No Parking Areas Camper Drop-off & Pick-up PARKING LOT Summer Parking Lot Procedures To ensure safety for all campers and accessibility for buses and carpools, new traffic and parking patterns will be in effect from Thursday, June 24 through Friday, August 13 from 11 p.m. each night until 4:30 p.m. the following afternoon (Sunday through Friday). A portion of the East Jefferson Street side of the JCC parking lot will be closed for parking. This area will be used exclusively by camp to load and unload children safely. Cars parked in restricted areas will be towed. The restricted area extends from the front playground border to the lower level lot overlook area (see map). The East Jefferson Street entrance will be closed to all non-camp car traffic — both entering and exiting — on weekdays from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and from 3:15 to 4 p.m. During the times when the East Jefferson Street exit is closed, all cars not involved in camp carpool must enter/exit the parking lot via Montrose Road. 15 June 2011 • jccgw.org • 301.881.0100 BUILDING PLAYGROUND We regret any inconvenience these changes cause. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our campers safe. Please note that, as always, there is no left turn from eastbound Montrose Road into the Center driveway, or from the Center driveway onto eastbound Montrose Road. Please comply with this directive from the Montgomery County Department of Transportation, which has limited the access to buses only. To make a left turn onto Montrose Road, go through the parking lot to the light at the east end of the Hebrew Home parking lot. Camp JCC Carpool Procedures Pick-up will begin at 3:20 p.m. Carpool families will enter and exit the JCCGW from the East Jefferson Street entrance. This entrance will be available to cars for DROPPING OFF campers from 8:40 to 9 a.m. and PICKING UP campers from 3:20 to 3:50 p.m. each day that camp is in session (June 27-August 12). Noam Ben-Tov What Are YOU Looking Forward to at Camp JCC this Summer? We asked Camp JCC Assistant Director Noam Ben-Tov what he’s looking forward to at Camp JCC this summer. Here is his response: “I am new to Camp JCC but a veteran of many camps; in fact, the first time I came to the United States [from Israel] was to work at a JCC overnight summer camp in West Virginia. I guess camp for me is pure joy and the great feeling of summer and being outside. I just love seeing everybody running around while playing and singing and it keeps me coming back to camping year after year. Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe that I get paid to play and be a kid again for 7 weeks a year! One thing I am looking forward to, because I have never experienced it before, is camp JCC’s incredible inclusion program. I can’t wait to see it in action over the summer.
