There were many battles between the Afghani Taliban, and the Northern Alliance(Massoud's army). The Northern Alliance is known to have said that fighting the Talibanwas fair and balanced, but the AQ fighters were lethal. The secret behind this is because many old generation Afghans were happy with a longlife and dying in the presence of their families, whereas many Arabs were wishing formartyrdom and did extremely daring acts just for this* - making them lethal fighters tothe death.(*Example: The AQ volunteers pitched bright white tents in the Russian Jihad so theenemy could see them and bombard them, since they desired martyrdom so much.)The End of Massoud:Since the Taliban had a greater and an ever increasing influence in Afghanistan in thelate 90s, the USA (CIA - Central Intelligence Agency) wanted to prevent this influencefrom expanding too quickly. So Osama promised a solution to the Taliban.Massoud was known to be extremely eloquent in portraying to the western media thathe was a freedom fighter who wanted stability in Afghanistan. All the western fundswere directed to him, and he led the Northern Alliance. How could the Taliban stop him?Osama had an idea. He had some Arab men who were from the Islamic Maghrib(countries including; Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria). It's known that these lands were taken23
