Bacton & District W.I. Meeting July 2nd <strong>2012</strong>At our July meeting we were lucky enough to have asour speaker local cookery guru Helen Hardy who treatedus to a lively and interesting talk about her experiencesas a cookery writer in South Africa, to which she hadtravelled at the tender age of 21. Helen illustrated hertalk with various magazine articles and many cookerybooks from her illustrious career. She had also printedout for us leaflets containing ‘retro’ recipes such asSmoked Mackerel Pate as well as some typical South African recipes. Not onlythat but Helen also brought with her some delicious treats for us to sample.Our next meeting which is on Monday <strong>Aug</strong>ust the 6th will feature AnnyaStoddart telling us all about Acupuncture. Some of our members havevolunteered to be guinea pigs so it should be very interesting as well as,hopefully, rejuvenating. Thank You!!By the time the newsletter goes to print, our older Cubs will have completed their last CubChallenge Camp before moving up to Scouts in September and there are still someexciting things happening during the summer. Our Scouts will be on their summer campand we will be holding an exhibit at the Bacton Fayre in <strong>Aug</strong>ust before we all return forthe autumn term.Autumn Term - We will be returning to all sections after the summer holidays in the firstfull week back at school Beavers will return on Monday 10 th September, and the Cubs andScouts on Friday 14 th September.Recycling Bins - Please remember to use our recycling bins at the Scout HQ. This raisesfunds for the group and is much easier than transporting your bottles and clothes to theStowmarket recycling centre / bins.We are in need of more Beavers and Cubs and if anyone would like their son or daughterto join a section, please don’t hesitate to contact the Group Secretary.Beaver Scouts (6yrs – 8yrs) meet every Monday (term time) 6.15pm – 7.30pmCub Scouts (8yrs – 10 ½ yrs) meet every Friday (term time) 6.15pm – 7.45pmScouts (10 ½ yrs – 14yrs) meet every Friday (term time) 8pm – 9.30pm- 23 -
