OPERATION OF A WASH OFF GUN SYSTEMGENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS & CARESince the results obtainable from the use of spray equipment will depend in no small measureon the performance ofthe spray gun used with that equipment, it is of great importance to theuser to see that the gun equipment is understood and operated properly.Following is a list of suggestions, which should be followed to help achieve maximum washgun performance.1. Keep all spray solution filters and/or strainers clean and in proper position to preventclogging the gun by coarse materiaL2. Keep all packing and moving parts ofthe gun well lubricated.3. Use only high-grade packing materials, properly fitted, lubricated and tightened to preventleakage. Leaking packing reduces gun efficiency rapidly.4. Nozzle the gun properly, adapting it to the job and material requirements, to save time andmaterial. Replace the nozzle promptly when the abrasive action of the spray material hasenlarged the disc hole.5. Always operate the handgun at recommended PSI and GPM.6. Avoid dropping the gun on hard surfaces, prying. pounding or excessive wrench torquewhen servicing the gun. Cracked or distorted gun parts can be a major performancehandicap.7. Always clean and lubricate the gun at the conclusion of any period of usage.8. Protect the gun from damage by freezing of liquid allowed to remain in the gun.9. Prepare the gun for storage by (a) a thorough cleaning, (b) draining all liquid from thegun, (c) pour a small quantity of clean light oil into the gun and work the discharge endpointing downward and with the discharge control or trigger in the open position to allow asmuch ventilation as possible for evaporation of any condensation. The handgun hose can only be operated on the low-pressure side of the system. Connect thequick disconnect on the handgun to the quick disconnect on the control panel when pumpdrive is in neutral position. Check that trigger lock on the handgun is released beforeconnecting the hose. The handgun should only be operated at idle speed, at recommendedPSI and GPM.For safety reasons, it is recommended that only factory-trained personnel run this equipment.- 5 -

AIR PURGE PROCEDURE1. Pull strainer and drain the water from the main tank.2. Open needle valve at pump.3. Connect air to air tank valve at pump.4. Go to control panel and move water control valve to pressure.5. Water will be forced out of sewer hose. Let water run until air is blowing from hose.6. If equipped with pulsator valve, open valve and leave open.7. Plug in handgun at QD and lock trigger in open position.8. Cycle control valve back and forth several times to clear lines.9. Start engine and run pump for approximately 15 seconds.10. Cycle valve again.11. Remove drain plug under unit on main water pipe and 1/8" plugs in head of pump, ifso equipped.12. Close needle valve. Unit is now purged.- 7 -

For thesecalculations to be accurate. you need to enter the hose length and diameter. the width of your hose drum. the diameter orthe drum's centerhub. the: direction of rotation. and pc:rfonn a quick.calibration routine:. Thc: more precise the measurement. the more accurate the counterwJII be. We suggcst that measuremc:nts be takcn to Iii 00 of an inch. Accur.1cy is also directly dependant on how levc:1 each hose wrap islaid on the drum.Make sure all your hose is reeled onto the drum. To enter the setup menu, press "STORE" + "UP" +"DOWN" at the same time. The display will read "Hose Length" and then return to a numerical value. You will enter the total hoselength in the lidd including your leader hose. The lett most digit will be !lashing. Use the "UP" and"DOWN" keys to change the value. When you are at the desired number. press "STORE" to move to thenext digit. Repeat this process until the entire value is tilled. This method of entry is used for the otherentries as well. This value is measured lO the nearest toot. The display will read "Hose Diameter" and then return to a numerical value. You will enter the overall hoseoutside diameter in the tield; usc of slide calipers is recommended. This value is measured to the nearest111 00 of an inch. The display will read "Reel Length" and then return to a numerical value. You will enter the overall distancebetween the drum tlanges (walls that bold hose on drum). This value is measured to the nearest 1/100 of aninch. The display will read "Reel Diameter" and then return to a numerical value. Vou will enter the overalldiameter of the center hub of the drum (reel barrel) in the tield . This value is measured to the nearest 11100ofan inch. The display will read "Rt:d Direction" and then n:tum to display either "CR" (clockwise rotation) or"CCRn (counter clockwise rotation). This direction is acrually the direction the encoder is turning looking atthe shaft. Usc "UP" or "DOWN" to select and press "STORE" to save.Last we will calibrate the countef. The display will fead .• 1 REV'. If the encoder is mounted directly to thedrum shaft. just press ·'STORE".
