DR. SUSANNE ÅDAHL is a social anthropologist with a specialisation <strong>in</strong> medical anthropology from<br />
the University <strong>of</strong> Hels<strong>in</strong>ki. She has worked <strong>in</strong> development cooperation <strong>in</strong> Bangladesh (1993–1997) <strong>in</strong><br />
the NGO sector and <strong>in</strong> F<strong>in</strong>land for the Service Centre for Development Cooperation, as well as other<br />
F<strong>in</strong>nish NGOs. She has conducted anthropological field research <strong>in</strong> Nicaragua and F<strong>in</strong>land. She is currently<br />
work<strong>in</strong>g as a researcher and lecturer <strong>in</strong> anthropology at the University <strong>of</strong> Hels<strong>in</strong>ki.<br />
