The primary objective of thisDepartment is to provide administrative managementsupport for all the junior national teams. This entailsmainly the provision of management support to theNational Teams Administration; drawing, monitoring andreconciliation of activities budgets; and the coordinationof national teams activities i.e. international tournaments,matches and friendly games.National TeamsNational U20 Team (Amajita)Women’s U19 Team (Basetsana)National U17 Team (Amajimbos)1.2 Management SupportFor administrative purposes, the team managers areassigned with specific responsibilities which includeall administrative matters and organisational planningin support of the technical staff.1.3 National Teams Programmes1.3.1 U20 National Team (Amajita)The U20 National Team held a training camp in August2007 and played against academies around Gautengwith the purpose of selecting players that were notselected from the past talent identification programme.In September 2007 the U20 National Team playedagainst Lesotho in Maseru and in November againstSwaziland at home and away.In December 2007 we advanced to the final of theCOSAFA Tournament where we lost against Zimbabwe.


January 2008 the U20 squad took part in the Daimlerrysler Tournament in Seldenfingen, Germany and thesults were as follows:U20 vs Karlsruher (2 - 0)U20 vs Kaiserslautern (2 - 1)U20 vs Fernebache (2 - 2)U20 vs Schalke 04 (3 - 1)U20 vs Dynamo Zagreb (2 - 4)U20 vs Kaiserslautern (3 - 0)March 2008 the U20 National Team took part in andly international in Windhoek, Namibia where wet 1 - 2 against the hosts.e international friendly matches are assisting ouryers to gain the necessary experience. In June 2008U20 National Team played two friendly internationalsMaseru, Lesotho and the results were as follows:sotho vs SA U20 (0 - 0)sotho vs SA U20 (0 - 2)June/July 2008 the U20 National Team took park inrican Youth Championship first and second legalifiers in Pretoria and Reunion. The results were aslows:On 2 February 2008 a training camp and an internationalfriendly match was organised against Lesotho in Maseru,resulting in a 1 - 0 victory for <strong>South</strong> Africa. Another trainingcamp was scheduled from 29 February – 3 March 2008in Johannesburg.In March 2008 we participated in the second edition ofthe Four Nations Cup played under the auspices of theNamibian <strong>Football</strong> <strong>Association</strong> in Walvisbay. As defendingchampions we only managed bronze this time aroundafter beating Namibia B 6 - 0 in the 3rd place play-offs.The U17 National Team also played Zimbabwe inPietermaritzburg at Wadley stadium on 8 June 2008. Thematch was won 2 - 1 by Zimbabwe. This match wasused to officially open the new stadium with an artificialpitch – part of the legacy projects for the 2010 FIFAWorld Cup.1.3.4 U14 National TeamNo activity was undertaken for this age group since May2007 when <strong>South</strong> Africa competed, and won, a minitournament that formed part of activities for the officialopening of FIFA House in Zurich, Switzerland.U20 vs Reunion (1 - 1)union vs SA U20 (1 - 7).2 U17 National Team (Amajimbos)December 2007 the U17 National Team participatedthe COSAFA tournament which was hosted bymibia from 8 – 15 December 2007.r team was drawn with Lesotho and Mauritius in theoup stages. We reached the finals of the Championshipd lost to Zimbabwe on penalties.

Coach JoelNatalino Santana was brought in to continue the processof preparing a competitive team for the 2010 FIFA WorldCup.
