Lifestyle Page 9by lifestyle director Annie Roachcreative costumesmake a comebackWhile in past years the main goal onHalloween was to look hottest or “barenot wear,” I am happy to say creativityhas made an intro back into frightnight ensembles. While stores have beenstocking some of the more questionableensembles (Catholic school girl beinga top sold item), wittier costumes havemade their ways onto the shelf.Either more frightening or comical, the new get ups have people thinkingoutside the box, many choosing to createtheir own to have a completely individuallook for parties or trick-or- treating. Some of the more clever ensembleshave actually been in pairs, two or morepeople teaming up to make their clothingidea funnier or cuter.Although plenty of the “sexy bumblebee” costumes will still pop up this year, youth and adults alike can look forwardto seeing some new apparel going doorto door or rocking it out at some partieson fright night. Many new costumeshave been startedwith a simple box(see Lego costumeabove). Ideas suchas a pacman gamemachine or fruitboxes have comefrom this. To the leftis the “white trash”costume, fully ensembledwith a trashbagdress, emptyfood bags, and arubber band belt.Fall fashionrolls into storesAfter a summer of record-setting hightemperatures, everyone is ready for cooler days andfun, fall fashion trends.
