CARIBBEAN CEMENT COMPANY LIMITEDSCOPE OF WORKS/SPECIFICATIONSPROJECT: MINING, CRUSHING SHALE AT JGQ QUARRIES, ST.ANDREW AND HAULAGE OF CRUSHED PRODUCTTO CCCL PLANT1.0 INSTRUCTIONS TO TENDERERS:Tenders are invited for the above captioned project.The Contractor shall supply/provide all labour, tools, equipment, handling,hauling, unloading and materials, insurance, taxes, and all other items necessaryto complete the stripping of overburden at Jamaica Gypsum Quarries, St. Andrew.The Contractor is required to visit the site of the proposed works before tenderingand to satisfy himself on matters or points which might affect his tender as noclaim will be accepted in relation to any neglect or failure on the contractor’s partin this respect.All tenderers will be supplied with copies of the Tender Documents and tenderersmust complete and submit their respective bids on the Form of Tender provided.Tenderers will be held to have satisfied themselves that they can obtain thematerials specified and to have met all the requirements for the works in suchquantities at such date to enable them to complete the works within the time forcompletion stipulated.The Contractor, during the performance of the work in this contract, shall beresponsible for any damage and/or repairs to Jamaica Gypsum and Quarriesfacilities and shall clean up any spilled materials and shall follow all applicableplant safety regulations.The successful contractor will be required to furnish a programme of activitieswithin three {3} days after award of contract.2.00 CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT:The contractor shall familiarize himself with and adhere to all terms andconditions contained within the document entitled “General Conditions ofContract (Revision 2)” which is available for download and viewing atwww.caribcement.com.3.00 SCHEDULE OF WORKS:Works are to be scheduled so that normal company operations are notinconvenienced.4.00 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORKS:The scope of works includes, but is not limited to the following:(a)(b)(c)(d)Transportation of equipment to the mine site and provide qualifiedoperators.Remove trees and deleterious material to expose the underlying Shaledeposit.Stockpile overburden in designated area for future use to rehabilitatemined out areas of the Shale Quarries.Contractor to provide a person (sampler) for collecting samples f andtransporting samples to CCCL lab.

5.03 MATERIALS RESPONSIBILITY:All materials including lube oil and fuel shall be supplied by the Contractor.5.04 HAUL ROADS:Haul roads width shall be maintained at 10m to allow 2 trucks to pass freelywithout hindrance. No new haul roads shall be created under this contract.Sprinkling of the haul roads is the responsibility of the contractor, once material isbeing trucked, and shall be done at least twice daily (early morning and afterlunch).6.00 MEASUREMENTS:Measurement of work done will be “Net Tonnes” delivered to the CCCL plant orport storage, as the weight station is located on the plant and the port.7.00 GENERAL INFORMATION7.01 Site VisitsSite visits will be scheduled as follows:Monday – August 19, 2013 - 10:00 a.m.Interested persons should send email to tenders@caribcement.com to register forthe site visit.7.02 Tender Closing DateThis invitation to Tender will be closed at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013.Late submissions will not be accepted.August 2013
