A decade of robust growthplaced Turkey among the top economies of theworld. Yet such economic success did not help closea significant gap between Turkey’s rich and poor.Millions of Turks left their villages looking for betteropportunities in big cities, leading to the impoverishmentof the countryside and development of urbanpoverty. Many of the social problems TPF works toaddress stem from this new face of poverty inTurkey. Our goal is to find the most effective programson the ground and bring about a long termimpact through results.
