Carnitas Pork Roast<br />

FROM THAWED:<br />

Thaw in refrigerator.<br />

Oven:<br />

• Preheat oven to 350˚F.<br />

• Remove carnitas and juices from<br />

package and place in a roasting pan.<br />

• Cover with foil. Heat 25 minutes<br />

in oven.<br />

• Uncover pan and return to oven<br />

for an additional 15 minutes.<br />

• To serve, pour juice over roasts or<br />

shred pork and mix in juices.<br />

Microwave:<br />

• Remove thawed carnitas and juices<br />

from package and place in a covered<br />

microwave safe dish, venting corner.<br />

• Heat on high for 3 minutes. Let rest<br />

1 minute.<br />

• Carefully uncover and turn over<br />

carnitas. Heat on high for an<br />

additional 3 minutes.<br />

• To serve, pour juice over roasts or<br />

shred pork and mix in juices.<br />

FROM FROZEN:<br />

Oven:<br />

• Preheat oven to 350˚F.<br />

• Remove carnitas and juices from<br />

package and place in a roasting pan.<br />

• Cover with foil. Heat 50 minutes<br />

in oven.<br />

• Uncover pan and return to oven for<br />

an additional 20 minutes.<br />

• To serve, pour juice over roasts or<br />

shred pork and mix in juices.<br />

Microwave:<br />

• Remove roasts and juices from<br />

package and place in a covered<br />

microwave safe dish, venting one<br />

corner.<br />

• Heat on high for 6 minutes. Let<br />

rest 1 minute. Carefully uncover<br />

and turn over carnitas. Heat on high<br />

an additional 4 minutes.<br />

• To serve, pour juice over roasts or<br />

shred pork and mix in juices.<br />

• Traditional Pork Carnitas:<br />

Serve shredded on corn tortilla with<br />

Pico De Gallo (page 12), guacamole,<br />

shredded cheese and sour cream.<br />

Serve along with rice and beans.<br />

Gourmet Franks<br />

(fully cooked)<br />

Boil:<br />

• Boil franks for 8-10 minutes.<br />

Grill:<br />

• Grill franks over medium heat until<br />

brown on all sides. Frozen franks will<br />

cook in approximately 15 minutes.<br />

For thawed franks, cook 8 minutes.<br />

Microwave:<br />

• Place frank on a microwave safe plate.<br />

• Cover with a paper towel.<br />

• Cook on high. One frozen frank will<br />

heat in 11/2 -2 minutes. One thawed<br />

frank will take 1 minute.<br />

Italian Sausage<br />

Boil: (fully cooked)<br />

• Bring 11/2 quarts of water to a boil<br />

in a medium sized pot.<br />

• Remove desired number of sausages<br />

from packaging; put in boiling water.<br />

• Boil for 8-10 minutes if thawed or<br />

10-12 minutes if frozen.<br />

Grill:<br />

• Preheat grill to medium heat.<br />

• Remove sausages from packaging.<br />

• Grill over medium heat for about<br />

6-8 minutes from thawed and<br />

12-15 minutes from frozen.<br />

Microwave:<br />

• Remove sausages from packaging.<br />

• Place on a microwave safe plate.<br />

• Cover sausages with a paper towel.<br />

• Microwave on high for 1 minute<br />

from thawed and about 11/2 -2<br />

minutes from frozen.<br />
