Current Practice and Professional GoalsAt present, I am part of a group practice providing sub-speciality Orthopaedic services. Since 2007, Ihave been an Honorary Consultant at Orthopaedic Department of University Malaya Medical Centerwhere I am involved in training postgraduate doctors in Foot and Ankle Surgery.Foot and Ankle Surgery is an established and important Orthopaedic subspeciality in many developedcountries. I believe there are many patients in our region who will benefit from established treatmentmethods practised by Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Many of the standard procedures I have learned to doare not routinely done here if at all and it is my hope that in introducing them, I will stimulate a higher levelof awareness and interest in diseases of the foot and ankle among our medical professionals includingpodiatrists and orthotists.I welcome consultation and referrals from colleagues from all over the region. By establishing andmaintaining ties with a network of experts overseas, I intend to develop further the training and practice ofFoot and Ankle surgery in Malaysia. At present, I am regularly in contact with Foot and Ankle Surgeonsfrom Singapore and UK.As the founding president of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery Society (MOFAS), I amregularly involved in organising courses, meetings and other teaching activities to advance the practice ofFoot and Ankle Surgery in Malaysia.Membership in Professional Organizations1. FELLOW of THE ROYAL COLLEGE of SURGEONS of EDINBURGH, U.K.2. MEMBER OF MALAYSIAN ORTHOPAEDIC ASSOCIATION3. PRESIDENT OF MALAYSIAN ORTHOPAEDIC FOOT AND ANKLE SOCIETY
