It aims at providing an introduction to this legal systemregarding the establishment, sources and structural characteristics of the European integration.Although, the main approach is legal, this course does not aim at stating or explaining thelegal rules of the European legal order as they stand. Instead, law is employed as a mediumfor analysing the achievements and shortcomings of the European integration as well as itsdistinctive features.The main emphasis of the course is on the role of law as a tool for integration within theEuropean integration process. At the end of the course the student is expected to acquire aninsight into the role and functioning of the legal mechanisms in the creation and developmentof the European integration process. The aim is to familiarize the student with the legalmechanisms, processes and institutions of the European Union through situating EU law in itspolitical, economic and social contexts.Dönemi: BAHARSınıfı:4Dersin Öğretim Üyesi:DOÇ.DR.ĠLHAN UZGELDersin Kodu: ULS436Dersin Adı: BÖLGESEL POLĠTĠKA: BALKANLARBu dersin temel amacı Türkiye‟nin hem coğrafi olarak içinde bulunduğu, hem de tarihsel veinsani bağlarının devam ettiği Balkanlar bölgesinin tarihsel gelişimini, bu bölgede yaşayanhalkları, belli çatışmaları, azınlık sorunlarını, bölgenin uluslararası sistem içindeki yerini,büyük devletlerin buraya yönelik politikalarını ve bölge ülkelerinin 1989 sonrasındayaşadıkları geçiş dönemi sorunlarını, dinsel etkenlerin siyasal süreçlere etkisini incelemektir.Bunlar içinde Yugoslavya‟nın dağılması süreci ve Bosna-Hersek‟te yaşanan savaş, Kosova,Sancak, Makedonya, Epir, Türk azınlıkların sorunları bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca, Balkan ülkeleride tek tek ele alınacak ve bu ülkelerin iç yapılarındaki gelişmeler ile dış politikalarıincelenmektedir.Balkanların özellikle 1990‟larda uluslararası politikadaki yeri üzerinde durulacak ve küreselgüçlerin Balkan politikaları ve Balkanlar‟da yaşanan sorun ve çatışmalar karşısındakitutumları işlenmektedir.REGĠONAL POLĠTĠCS: THE BALKANSThe purpose of this course is to expose various aspects of the Balkans to IR students. It startswith a general basic information of the region which includes the outline of its history, thevarious ethnic and national groups, the formation of nation states in the 19th century. Theplace of the region in international politics during and after the Cold War, the dissolution ofSocialist Yugoslavia and ensuing wars in the region are some of the issues of this class.
