HELP US CHILDREN TO SAVE THE WORLD - Plant-for-the-Planet

THE WORLD BELONGS INTO THE HANDS OF CHILDREN Adults say: “Children are the future”
– but if we don´t have any future,
what remains to us?
In our initiative and our foundation children call the
shots!
It is the objective of our Children Initiative that we
the children empower a million of other children
until 2020 to also become Ambassadors for Climate
Justice.
Every year we are going to elect our Global Board.
Our initiative is a registered society seated in Germany.
However, everybody can join us, independent
from nationality and age. This means also adults
and even small children can join. However, only
children aged 8 to 14 are entitled to vote. In our
initiative, children perceive themselves as a world
family, as global citizens. In contrast to adults, who
have been discussing longer than we are alive who
should do the fi rst step in the climate crisis, we
children simply tackle the problem together.
Via our democratic structure, we hope to strengthen
our international network and concentrate our
power.
The local initiatives are the most important active
unities within Plant-for-the-Planet. They decide independently
and act on their own authority. Among
all initiatives, the seven most successful ones will
be selected via clearly defi ned criteria. They will
appoint one of their members into the Global Board.
The other seven children will be elected by us out of
the seven Plant-for-the-Planet regions Africa, Asia-
Pacifi c, China, India, Latin America & the Caribbean,
Eastern Europe and Western Europe including USA,
Canada and Australia.
The constitutive Global Board 2011/2012 will consist
out of 14 children coming from 8 countries.
The children of the Global Board will guide the
activities of the Children Initiative by supporting
the local initiatives in their work via consultation.
Besides, we are responsible for the planning and
execution of the annual plan. Together, we decide
on general strategies and values of our organization
and determine the annual priorities. To the outside,
we the Global Board, represents the worldwide
organization and speaks to media and the general
public on behalf of all members and local initiatives.
On July 1st of each year the member of the Global
Board will pass on the leadership of the initiative to
the next generation of Plant-for-the-Planet children.
A re-election is not possible.
Our Global Board consists of 14 children and on
adult who is necessary for certain task like fi nancial
and legal issues where you need to be of legal age.
Only this adult will be determined by other adults.
He/she will be a member of the Plant-for-the-Planet
foundation.
The Plant-for-the-Planet foundation, founded in
January 2010, is consulted by a Children and Youth
Council.
The foundation is a partner organization of the
registered society and supports the initiative in the
organization and the funding of the activities. The
foundation is making arrangements with national
and worldwide partners from the industry and institutions.
Together with children
from the whole world we will
save our future.
