4Annie ripped off the wrapping paper.Inside the box was a camera!“I picked it out just for you,” said Annie’sgrandmother. “Now you can take somepictures.”


Annie’s grandmother showed her how toload the film.“Thank you, Grandma!” said Annie.Then she looked through the camera at hergrandmother. “Smile,” she said.5


Annie and her grandmother walked aroundthe farm. Annie saw an orange and yellow leaffall from a tree. She took a picture of it.6


Annie turned to look at her cat. Pixie wassleeping next to a tree. Annie took a picture ofher.7


“Look at the sky,” said her grandmother.“Those birds are headed south for the winter.”Annie took a picture quickly as the birdsflew over the tops of the trees.8


Annie’s mother came out of the house.“Mom, what are you doing?” Annie asked.“I made a special pie for your grandma,”she said.“Smile, Mom!” Annie said. She snappeda picture of her mother.9


Then they rode up the winding path to seewhat Annie’s father was doing. Annie wanted totake more pictures, but the ride was too bumpy.10


At the top of the hill, Annie’s fatherwas busy putting apples into baskets and boxes.“Look at all the apples you picked, Dad,”Annie said.Annie was about to take a picture when shesaw something run by her.11


It was two chipmunks. They raced away.Annie followed them down the path, but theyran through the grass and into the woods.Then Annie saw the pumpkins.12


It was easy to take pictures of the pumpkins.They didn’t run like those chipmunks did.They didn’t fly away like the birds. Annie tooka lot of pictures of the pumpkins!13


The next morning, Annie was takingGrandma to visit her second-grade class. Nowshe could take pictures of this special day!14
