<strong>Position</strong> <strong>Title</strong>: <strong>Laundry</strong> <strong>Supervisor</strong><strong>Reports</strong> <strong>To</strong>: <strong>Executive</strong> HousekeeperScope of <strong>Position</strong>: <strong>To</strong> coordinate and supervise the activities of the department as wellas assisting in the activities when needed. This person is responsible for supplying cleanand properly laundered linens as the related departments require them.Expectations by Department Head: This role is one of a “working leader” providing direction of their team as they workalongside with them. It is expected that at least 75% of their working hours will bespent in the <strong>Laundry</strong> Room directly supervising the team. Shifts may vary between Am and Pm hours as the workload dictates. Flexibility withdesignated day off will be required as hotel occupancy and staffing levels may vary incertain seasons.Responsibilities: <strong>To</strong> oversee the quantity and quality of laundered items as they are provided to otherdepartments and guests in the hotel. <strong>To</strong> seek solutions and do the research needed to find resolution to quality issues asthey arise in the area. <strong>To</strong> work with other departments in a positive and collaborative manner to assist themin meeting their quality assurance standards. Assist Housekeeping Management and staff to create a successful training andorientation for personnel, inclusive of goals and objectives, health and safety and atraining program suitable for new and permanent employees. Assist in developing ideas for motivation and incentives for staff. Assist Housekeeping Management towards creating a successful team by holdingregular meeting for the exchange and contribution of new ideas to maintain a positivework environment to set new goals and acknowledge ongoing achievements. Ensure and oversee the set up training programs for Dry Cleaners, <strong>Laundry</strong>Attendants and Uniform Attendants. Ensure hotel professional standards for attire & conduct are met. Ensure Uniform Office has necessary supplies to perform efficiently and effectively. Ensure all laundry chemical supplies are on hand and washing machines are correctlyloaded. Track discards of linens and report to other departments when their linens arerequiring replacement. <strong>To</strong> work with the Engineering department and the chemical supplier to understand thelaundering process and seek out adjustments when needed. <strong>To</strong> manage the area when there are "down times" and work with engineering whenthere is a stoppage in production. Set up daily and weekly cleaning program for Dry Cleaning, <strong>Laundry</strong> area andUniform Office. Quality control sheet for Dry Cleaning and pressing as per Rimrock standards.


Maintain standards for uniforms and coordinate with the Uniform Attendant. Ensure effective use and time management of equipment, presses, washers, dryersand sewing machine. Schedule <strong>Laundry</strong>/Dry Cleaning/Uniform Attendant shifts according to hoteloccupancy. Monthly ordering within budget guidelines. Monitor labour on a daily basis. Provide a safe & healthy environment for both guests & staff. Ensure hotel security is protected by following the proper procedures. Be knowledgeable in Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS & PPE.
