Such persons will need to show evidence <strong>of</strong> engagement at least on a casual,part-time or voluntary basis as teachers/trainers, curriculum developers or managers <strong>of</strong> education <strong>and</strong> training,or similar, in approved instructional settings in the post-compulsory education <strong>and</strong> training sector. Writtenverification <strong>of</strong> such engagements will be required before enrolment can be confirmed.Program feesCommonwealth supported placeA Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government makes a contribution towards the cost<strong>of</strong> your higher education <strong>and</strong> you as a student pay a student contribution amount, which varies depending onthe courses undertaken. You are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the Course Fee Finder.Commonwealth Supported students may be eligible to defer their fees through a Government loan calledHECS-HELP.Domestic full fee paying placeDomestic full fee paying places are funded entirely through the full fees paid by the student. Full fees varydepending on the courses that are taken. You are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the CourseFee Finder.Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders, Permanent Resident visa holders <strong>and</strong> New Zeal<strong>and</strong> citizens who resideoutside Australia pay full tuition fees.Domestic full fee paying students may be eligible to defer their fees through a Government loan called FEE-HELP.International full fee paying placeInternational students pay full fees. Full fees vary depending on the courses that are taken <strong>and</strong> whether theyare studied on-campus, via distance education/online. You are able to calculate the fees for a particular coursevia the Course Fee Finder.Program structureNote: Minimum enrolment numbers apply to all courses. Should enrolments not meet the minimum numberrequired, students may be transferred to a different mode or <strong>of</strong>fering <strong>and</strong> advised <strong>of</strong> this change prior tosemester start.Introductory informationThere are two program structures for this program that reflect the student’s choice <strong>of</strong> enrolment in eitherSt<strong>and</strong>ard pattern <strong>of</strong> study, or alternatively, to specialise in Industrial Design <strong>and</strong> Technology in order toqualify as a Manual Arts or Technology Studies teacher. Regardless <strong>of</strong> specialisation, to be awarded a four-year<strong>Bachelor</strong>s program in the Faculty <strong>of</strong> <strong>Education</strong>, a student must have normally completed 32 units atundergraduate levels 1-4. At the discretion <strong>of</strong> the Program Coordinator, up to 4 units may be completed atpostgraduate level.Sequence <strong>of</strong> studyStudents’ enrolment in various courses in the program should roughly reflect the sequence <strong>of</strong> courses as theyare shown in the following tables. Although program staff undertake to provide accurate <strong>and</strong> timely adviceto students on their enrolment in the program, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they meet theprogram <strong>and</strong> course requirements – including pr<strong>of</strong>essional experience – in order to be eligible for graduationfrom the program <strong>and</strong> teacher registration. Please refer to the Recommended Enrolment Patterns for moreinformation on the recommended sequence <strong>of</strong> study.Advanced content (discipline) studiesAdvanced content studies provide an opportunity for the student to upgrade their knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills in theirareas <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional content expertise (ie teaching area/s) to a level equivalent <strong>of</strong> two years <strong>of</strong> full-timeundergraduate study.
