It guarantees a reliable level of expertiseand skills because the exams are specific to this industry and a fair assessmentof your knowledge. Don’t delay in getting your certification.All three ETCP examinations will be given at the October <strong>2011</strong> LDI showin Orlando, FL. The entertainment electrician exam is scheduled for Friday,October 27th; the arena rigging exam is to be given the morning of Saturday,October 28th and the theatre rigging exam is scheduled for that afternoon.Candidates who wish to take multiple exams will receive a discount for thesecond exam. The WesternWashington Theatrical TrainingTrusts Training Coordinator DickDelay (<strong>IATSE</strong> <strong>Local</strong> 15), madesure it was a success.An <strong>IATSE</strong> Education Seminar will be held in conjunction withthe <strong>2011</strong> Mid-Summer General Executive Board MeetingWednesday, July 27, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. • Back Bay Ballroom A, Sheraton Boston HotelOn Wednesday, July 27 there will be an Educational Seminar open to all representatives of <strong>Local</strong> Unions.Retired General Counsel Steven Spivak and Former Canadian Counsel Bernard Fishbein will give a talk on “TheHistory of the <strong>IATSE</strong>”. This seminar will be held in the Back Bay Ballroom A of the Sheraton Boston Hotel from1:00 to 2:30 pm.As members and leaders of our locals, it is important to remember that our past is prologue to the battles we fighttoday. Many of the terms and conditions now enjoyed by <strong>IATSE</strong> members in the United States and Canada were securedonly after hard-fought battles. Knowing our history will help to equip us to face the future as we meet the difficult challengeshighlighted by the current battles in Wisconsin and elsewhere.
