Exhibitors shall hold <strong>the</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Breeders</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>United States, and/or said Board <strong>of</strong> Directors, and/or named <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> members, and/or3


employees and volunteers harmless for any loss, damage, or accident to <strong>the</strong>mselves or associates; or <strong>the</strong>irhorses and/or equipment or for cancellation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> show through acts <strong>of</strong> God, war, animal diseases or quarantineand o<strong>the</strong>r unforeseen disasters- as a condition <strong>of</strong> entry to <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong>. Entries must bepostmarked by Monday, August 15 th , <strong>2011</strong>.Health Requirements – All horses attending a public exhibition in <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong> Wisconsin are required to have anegative EIA (Coggins test) within <strong>the</strong> current calendar year. All horses coming from outside <strong>the</strong> state <strong>of</strong>Wisconsin must have a valid Health Certificate from Licensed and Certified Veterinarian within 30 days <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>show. Paperwork must be available & reviewed prior to unloading your horses. Please cooperate to avoiddelays.Destruction <strong>of</strong> Property - Any person that damages or destroys Alliant Energy Center property will be heldresponsible and liable for <strong>the</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> repairs or replacement. No posting <strong>of</strong> bills or posters except in designatedareas.No Smoking – Smoking is not permitted in <strong>the</strong> barns, buildings, restrooms, or stabling areas.Dogs – The Alliant Energy Center (as well as Dane County code) does not allow pets with <strong>the</strong> exception <strong>of</strong>Service dogsAlcohol – appropriate, lawful and reasonable usage is expectedArrival & Departure Times – Early arrivals are prohibited on <strong>the</strong> grounds before designated times. No horses orcampers will be allowed on <strong>the</strong> grounds before 8:00 AM Tuesday, October 18 th .All horses and campers must vacate grounds by noon on Monday, October 24 th or be assessed late fees by <strong>the</strong>Alliant Energy Center for each stall occupied.Stalls – Team Members, Class Sponsors, and Major Sponsors will be guaranteed stalls. The <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong><strong>Show</strong> can not guarantee every entry will be accepted due to <strong>the</strong> uncertainty <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> show attendance. The <strong>World</strong><strong>Show</strong> will make every effort to accommodate all entries in <strong>the</strong> available stall space. Please only order <strong>the</strong> exactnumber <strong>of</strong> stalls you need. Tack stalls will be assigned according to availability and number <strong>of</strong> head shown ifdeemed necessary. Appropriate fees will be refunded if exhibitor’s tack stalls are reduced. Nails, staples, bolts,screws are prohibited from being fastened to stalls. Exhibitors may be liable for any damages to stalls. The <strong>World</strong><strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> requests that exhibitor’s stalls be decorated in an attractive manner. Most Stalls are 8 feetdeep X 12 feet wide. The aisles are somewhat narrow. Exhibitors should not extend pop up tents,decorations or tack into <strong>the</strong> aisles. Safety, courtesy & common sense are expected. Be considerate <strong>of</strong>your neighbors. The Fire Marshall has ordered that aisles are not to be blocked.Bedding & Manure & Trash – Exhibitors are required to dump manure in appropriate areas only. Wood shavingsor straw will be permitted for use as bedding. Hay and Shavings will be available for purchase at <strong>the</strong> show. Notrash or wire is to be mixed in with manure. Trash receptacles are available throughout <strong>the</strong> facility. Do not putmanure in trash receptacles. Please help keep <strong>the</strong> show grounds clean for all to enjoy. Provider <strong>of</strong> feed andbedding will be: Prairie View Feeds, Joel Schultz – Phone: 608-513-1316. .Loading & Unloading – Exhibitors will receive written loading and unloading instructions with <strong>the</strong>ir exhibitorpackets. Trucks are to be unloaded and parked in a timely manner in designated parking areas. Vehicles are notto be parked in or around barn areas and will be subject to towing. Health papers and Coggins must be availableand reviewed prior to unloading.Trailering – In Exhibitors will not be permitted to exhibit out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir trailer. If <strong>the</strong> barns are full, <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong><strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> will review any request to trailer – in on a case by case basis.Wash Racks – Wash racks are located adjacent to several <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> barns. Exhibitors must keep area manure andlitter free to prevent clogged drains. Please do your part.4


<strong>Show</strong> Photographer – Lynn Cassels-Caldwell is <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial show photographer. No o<strong>the</strong>r photographers willbe permitted in <strong>the</strong> show ring during judging without written authorization from <strong>Show</strong> managementAttendants & Proper Attire – Exhibitors will be expected to wear appropriate attire befitting a <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong><strong>Show</strong>. No Blue-Jeans are permitted in <strong>the</strong> show ring.Suggested Exhibitor Attire for Halter ring- Business casual pants, collared casual/dress shirts.Suggested Exhibitor Attire for Hitch Ring- Male Driver /Rider to wear suit & tie. Female Driver/Rider to besemiformal/formal attire. Any headers to wear collared shirt and dress pants. The <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong>/RingMan/Superintendent reserves <strong>the</strong> right to remove anyone deemed unsuitably dressed from <strong>the</strong> ring. Saw dust orpowder <strong>of</strong> any kind is prohibited in <strong>the</strong> show ring.Golf Carts- Golf carts are permitted on <strong>the</strong> Alliant Energy Center grounds if operated in a safe manner, bylicensed drivers. Exhibitors must be able to show pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> appropriate liability insuranceVendor Activity-any person utilizing barn space, truck, or trailer to conduct vendor activity must immediately pay<strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> a $500 vendor fee. Please contact <strong>the</strong> Association <strong>of</strong>fice prior to <strong>the</strong> show to reserveauthorized vendor space in or around <strong>the</strong> ColiseumADMISSION & CAMPING FEESGeneral Admission:$10 day Adult - $8 Senior Citizens (65 & over)& Overseas Visitors - Children age 6 and under freeFour Day Pass - $30 Adult - $25 Senior Citizens (65 & over) & Overseas VisitorsChildren age 6 & under freeExhibitor Passes: Exhibitor’s will receive 2 Season passes per stable/family entry.Additional Exhibitor’s tickets available @ $20 eachExhibitor Parking Season Pass: $20 per vehicle.General Parking $5 per dayCamping: Space available at <strong>the</strong> Alliant Energy Center Camping area will be reserved on a first to reserve basis.A separate form is available from <strong>the</strong> Association and/or <strong>World</strong> <strong>Show</strong> web site to reserve camping sites at $40per night. Priority will be given to Exhibitors and vendors. Electricity will be provided, but you should bring extraextension cords as outlets may be a distance from your camper. Do not attempt to reserve a site through <strong>the</strong>Alliant Energy Center, as all reservations will be processed through <strong>the</strong> Association <strong>of</strong>fice. Some camping spacesmay include water hookups. Sites are assigned to <strong>the</strong> best <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong>’s ability. Specialrequests may be honored but can not be guaranteed. There will be no refunds on any camping reservationcancelled after August 15th. Camping vehicles must be parked within designated camping spot. All o<strong>the</strong>rvehicles are required to park in designated areas. Any vehicles in violation may be subject to towing at owner’sexpense. A separate area may be available for camping without electricity or water at a reduced rate-if this isdesired, please contact <strong>the</strong> Association Office for detailsENTRIESEach exhibitor must pay appropriate fees when making entry to <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong>. All entries will bemade in <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> bona fide owner(s). Separate entry forms must be used for each exhibitor. Entrants mayphoto copy blank entry forms or request additional copies. Entry forms will not be accepted without valid signatureand Social Security Number/ or Tax ID Number. Any exhibitor receiving $600.00 or more in premiums paid will berequired to complete IRS Form W-9 (W-8BEN for foreign exhibitors). No Refunds on Entry Fees.ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY AUGUST 15 th , <strong>2011</strong>OWNERSHIPAll horses must be owned by entering exhibitor as <strong>of</strong> August 15th, <strong>2011</strong>. United States and Canadian horses mustbe registered with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Breeders</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> United States or Canadian Livestock Records Corporationrespectively. Any horses entered from abroad must be registered in <strong>the</strong>ir respective country’s <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>Clydesdale</strong>Breed Society or Association. 2-Sided copies <strong>of</strong> all registration papers must accompany all registeredentries. The <strong>Clydesdale</strong> Breeder’s <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> USA Board <strong>of</strong> Directors (or designated personnel) will be checking all5


papers. Foals under one year <strong>of</strong> age are not required to be registered but must show pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> being eligible forregistration in each respective association. Appendix Registered horses are not allowed in Registeredclasses.REGULATIONS-Entry fees are made payable to <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong>, and payable in US Funds. A $30.00 fee will becharged for any check returned as non-sufficient funds. NSF checks will not be re-deposited.-Exhibits that are entered but not brought to <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> shall forfeit all fees paid.-Entries will be limited to two entries per halter class (substitutions will be accepted) and two entries per hitchclass. Any number <strong>of</strong> youth entries will be accepted.-Post entries to halter classes and hitch classes will be accepted with a $30.00 <strong>of</strong>fice fee per entry(no additional fees for Costume, Homeland Pride Group class or Youth showmanship classes)- Late entries may be accepted provided stalls are available and must be accompanied bya $100.00 late fee per exhibitor-Horses that have been erroneously entered in classes will, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Secretary, betransferred to <strong>the</strong>ir proper classes prior to <strong>the</strong> class being judged.-All horses entered in group classes must have been shown in an individual halter class. Grade Mares or GradeGeldings are not permitted in group classes. Registered Geldings are allowed in Open Produce <strong>of</strong> Dam, OpenGet <strong>of</strong> Sire, Best 4 Head Bred & Owned and Homeland Pride classes. All horses must wear <strong>the</strong>ir ribbons in groupclasses.- Junior and Senior showmanship entrants participating in halter and hitch classes will meet age requirements on<strong>the</strong> date entries close. <strong>Show</strong>manship halter classes to be judged on handler only.- Any handler/driver or attendant deemed to be under <strong>the</strong> influence <strong>of</strong> any type <strong>of</strong> drug or alcohol will be asked toleave <strong>the</strong> judging ring immediately.-Protests on any grounds must be made in writing on <strong>the</strong> same day in which <strong>the</strong> protested action takes place.This must be given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Superintendent and accompanied by a $250.00 deposit whichwill be forfeited if <strong>the</strong> protest is not sustained.- Any exhibitor making false or misleading statements, showing an animal out <strong>of</strong> class, substituting one animal forano<strong>the</strong>r or for any o<strong>the</strong>r dishonest practice will forfeit all premiums.- Young Children will not be permitted in <strong>the</strong> halter judging ring unless <strong>the</strong>y are entered in a specific you<strong>the</strong>xhibitor class. <strong>World</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Committee members or ring man have authority to remove any young childrenbelieved to be in inappropriate situations.- The Official gate may be closed for any hitch or halter class, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ring Man. The Ring Man orJudge may also excuse any entry that is deemed unsafe at any time.*The <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Breeders</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> U.S.A. shall use its best efforts to secure adequate funding in order toprovide premiums in <strong>the</strong> amounts published in <strong>the</strong> <strong>2011</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Premium Book. Shouldtotal sponsorships, entries, and event receipts be insufficient to pay premiums in <strong>the</strong> published amounts,<strong>the</strong>n those amounts may be adjusted down proportionally based on actual funds available.“Premium monies will be paid in US dollars and mailed to exhibitors as soon as possible after <strong>the</strong>conclusion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> show. All prizes, awards and premiums will be paid by <strong>World</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Show</strong> fundsand administered by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Clydesdale</strong> <strong>Breeders</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> United States.”*Due to possible wea<strong>the</strong>r conditions and distance from <strong>the</strong> barns to <strong>the</strong> ring, exhibitors will be allowed todecorate horses in <strong>the</strong> ring during <strong>the</strong> halter classes. The East half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ring will be for <strong>Show</strong>preparation. Horses will be shown in <strong>the</strong> West half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ring.REGISTERED AND GRADE HALTER CLASSESEntrants must be at <strong>the</strong> ring promptly for <strong>the</strong>ir classes being judged. The Ring Man has authority to refuse late entry into <strong>the</strong>ring by any exhibitor. Exhibitors are permitted to borrow horses for Produce <strong>of</strong> Dam, and Get <strong>of</strong> Sire Classes. Halter horseswill be shown in <strong>the</strong> order <strong>of</strong> classes listed. Do not enter Champion classes. First and Second place horses are eligible forChampionship classes. Do Not Enter Best USA Bred, Best Canadian Bred, Best UK Bred or <strong>the</strong> Bred and Owned byExhibitor Classes-ring man will identify highest placing eligible horses as show occurs. Registered geldings shown in classes6


201 and 202 may be shown in classes 402, 404, 407 & 408.
