TheAquaplay 1100 is the smaller relative to the Aquaplay1250 with enough room for a very comfortable interiorand a spacious, usable fly bridge. The hull shape on this design is semi-displacement,which means if you want to potter around comfortablyat 8 - 10 knots or if time is short, will cruise easily at12-14 knots, this boat will do it all in comfort very economically.Motors start with 2 x 56 hp Yanmar shaftdrive diesel engines or if speed is what you’re after, thesame engines can be turbo-charged for increasedpower. The saloon is huge with an option of the helm stationincluded in the saloon or in the fly bridge, or both. The cockpit is well sized too; with walk-through accesseither side straight down on to the jetty. The layout canaccommodate four double cabins, one with ensuite andthe main head and shower up at saloon height with accessto it from the cockpit or alternatively in one of thefront cabins. Another feature of this design is accessthrough the front of the cabin to the tramps and foredeckfrom the saloon, via a passageway with watertightdoor. This opens the boat up tremendously. The combination of internal space, good looks, lightweight build, and performance makes this boat avery attractive option. For quite a small, manageableboat you get everything 45 – 50 footers offer with aconsiderably smaller price tag.The hull below the waterline on this design is idealfor beaching with the propeller and rudder being fullyprotected and extra hull reinforcement.Aquaplay 1100She is the ideal “party boat” or just find a secludedanchorage somewhere and relax.Aquaplay OverviewDesigned for the Australian Bare Boat Charterindustry or the person who requires a roomy, seaworthymotor cat in the lower speed range, she’ll bea lot of fun as well as a good investment. The Aquaplay cats all use a unique hull shapeallowing very efficient hull speeds at low or higherspeeds. Unlike the Prowler range, the Aquaplays dohave a hull speed limit and are designed more forload-carrying which would well suit a live-aboardsituation or charter.Similar to the Prowler cats, the hull shape is veryeasily driven. Horsepower can be kept to a minimum, saving on cost and also on weight. Due to thehull design and efficiency, less horsepower is requiredto drive these boats, saving is in weight aswell as cost. For example, a customer’s Prowler 420was fitted with 2 x 56 hp sail drive diesels, the performanceand economy was very impressive, cruisingat 14 knots and motors running at 2600 revs, both motors were using 0.7 litres of fuel per mile. All Aquaplay cats have good bridgedeck clearanceto eliminate slamming. Good looks combinedwith generous interior volume create a very attractiveproposition. We design these boats to be built out of light/strong materials, such as DuFlex balsa sheets for thestructure and DuFlex honeycomb for the interior.Another advantage with this range is that becausethe Aquaplays are not as “weight sensitive” andhave high displacement, cost can be saved by usinglower-tech materials such as WRC and gaboon plywood. The lighter (and stronger) construction of theboat only increases performance and payload to thisgood looking vessel.Shed size needs to be 2-3m wider than the boat,4m longer and ideally, the height should be 2.5mplus the boat height. Remember, foam bows can beadded later to reduce shed size.COMPONENTSHulls:B/D:Flybridge:2260 L x 2270 W x 11000 L7150 L x 2635 B4980 L x 4040 B
