Surface textures range from sandy loam tosilt loam, and subsoils are loam, silt loam, clay loam and silty clayloam . In places sandy loam, loamy sand and sand occur interstratifiedwith the heavier textures . The deposits grade to fine or coarse sandwith depth .The imperfectly drained Rumball soils were classed as Gleyed OrthicRegosols . They developed under deciduous tree cover composed of cottonwood,birch, maple, alder, wild rose, and others .
