LWSRA is supported through a cooperativeagreement that includes Frankfort, Manhattan, <strong>Mokena</strong>, NewLenox, Peotone and Wilmington Island <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong>s. LWSRAoffers a wide variety of programs, athletic activities, and specialevents for individuals from preschool through adult who havedisabilities and whose recreational needs are not met by regularpark district programs.LWSRA offers many athletic opportunities including participationin Special Olympics of Illinois. They offer a variety of programsthat encompass social endeavors, health and fitness enhancementand learning experiences for all ages and abilities. Call the <strong>Park</strong>Office at 708-390-2404 to find out about the opportunities that aremain & hect park lightning warningLighting is a severe hazard that must be viewed seriously!<strong>Park</strong> users should STOP PLAY and SEEK SHELTER immediatelywhen lightning threatens them, EVEN IF A SIGNAL HAS NOTBEEN SOUNDED. <strong>Park</strong> users will be warnedby one prolonged horn blast signaling astrong risk for lightning in the area. Allpatrons should immediately seek shelterin enclosed vehicles or buildings. Thestrobe light signals a continuing lightningalert condition. Three short horn blastssignal it’s safe to resume activities. Please note that thereare two audible warnings:• ONE long blast - SEEK SHELTER FAST.• THREE short sounds - IT'S SAFE TO BE AROUND.If you hear a warning and continue to play, you do so at yourown risk.IMPORTANTCardiac Defibrillators are located in the Concession Standsat Main <strong>Park</strong>, Hecht <strong>Park</strong>, and The Oaks Recreation & FitnessCenter.
