RAINDANCE LIVE
PAUL MOSLEY, LITTLE EMPEROR, ZAN LYONS
FRIDAY 3 OCTOBER AT 7PM – THE SPICE OF LIFE
Paul Mosley has seen his music playlisted by BBC radios 2 & 6Music,
glowingly reviewed by the likes of Time Out and Mojo, and toured with
Shane MacGowan and Mistys Big Adventure. Rhythm magazine called him
‘a genuine modern day Nick Drake’ www.paulmosley.com
Little Emperor’s melodic songs and soulful voice bring honesty and
meaning to his tunes with a sincerity that is refreshing and seemingly hard
to find these days. Somewhere between a British Ray LaMontagne and
the mod father himself, Little Emperor is a fine example of modern British
talent with tunes you feel you grew up with. www.littleemperor.co.uk
Zan Lyons fuses his own violin concertos with electronica to create a
sound that arrests and compels in equal measure. Zan’s shows are the
most sensory-challenging live sets London currently has to offer combining
his stunning films, some of which have been screened at Cannes and
his live violin playing to awesome effect. www.zanlyons.com
30 SIXTEENTH RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL
MARK LEVIN HARPIST, PHILLIP ROEBUCK
SATURDAY 4 OCTOBER AT 8PM – THE REX
Mark Levin plays a mixture of rock/indie/dance/pop classics and selfpenned
mellow compositions on a 29-string Celtic harp. His Total Eclipse
of the Harp sets have been described as ‘2 Many DJs on a harp’ – with
popular masterworks by the likes of Michael Jackson, Radiohead and
Prodigy all getting a rinsing. www.myspace.com/marklevinharpist
Phillip Roebuck is a bare-bones one-man band, conceived in the subways
of New York. Phillip made his first drum apparatus out of a suitcase
and a luggage cart, a setup which soon created his first album. The New
York Press voted him the city’s Best Subway Musician and he was the star
of Little Bo Peep (Best of 15RFF DVD). www.philliproebuck.com
