50 : 50Method & PasteDes Shipp is one of the country’s best match anglers; being a currentmember of Team England fishing in the World Championships and alsobeing the current Parkdean Master, his experiences in Match Fishing meanthere is no better person to develop bait for the modern angler.Method feeder fishing is changing. It’s something I’ve noticed a lot recentlyand I believe this is because carphave become more aggressive in theirfeeding behaviour. How many timeshave you cast a Method feeder andstraight away you get a couple ofsmall knocks which doesn’t turn intoa proper bite? This happens because the carp willhear the splash of the Method feederand they associate that with food,in knocking the Method feeder theywill dislodge the groundbait thereforeleaving no attraction apart from thehookbait, this means you have to waitmuch longer for a bite.“50:50 worksperfectlyand itcompresseson aMethodfeedereasily”It also happens when you are fishingtight to an island – you will get a fewknocks and the feeder will slide downthe slope and again you will have noattraction around the hookbait. If you’re fishing in deep water youneed to know that the groundbaitaround the Method is still there whenit hits the bottom otherwise you areagain left with just a hookbait and theattraction is through the water columnactually taking fish away from whereyou want them to be; around yourhook bait.I started working with the Sonubaitsteam early in 2011 to develop agroundbait that would stop theseproblems. It needed to be really stickyand hard so it could be compactedonto a Method feeder with 100 percentconfidence that it wouldn’t come offon the cast, impact with the water orwhen it was knocked by the initialinterest from a carp. This is whenSonubaits 50:50 Method and Pastewas developed. Because it’s sticky andbinds well it can also be mixed with alittle more water to create a paste, idealfor fishing on the pole. The Sonubaits knowledge of howdifferent ingredients perform whenmixed is invaluable when it comes todeveloping baits – it didn’t take longafter the initial concept for the baitto be ready for me to trial. It worksperfectly and compresses on a Methodfeeder easily, and after a few smallchanges to the ingredients to get therequired colour it became the firstgroundbait I would consider whenfishing the Method or paste on watersup and down the country.Have a think about how many timesyou have had a couple of knocks whichhave not turned into a bite. Sonubaits50:50 Method and Paste is the solution.Des ShippDes ShippEngland International26INGENIOUS, IRRESISTIBLE
