The majority of this work involves independentinvestigations for which you will present your evidence via written coursework.You will undertake one examination.YEAR 2:At A2 level, you will explore and build your own multimedia solution for agiven brief, analyse and develop a fully functioning website and learn projectmanagement techniques. All of this work is evidenced through coursework.How will I be assessed?You will be assessed primarily through portfolio (coursework) evidence withonly one AS unit assessed through an examination. Portfolio work will be theresult of independent research that will showcase your achievements. It will beassessed by your teacher and moderated by the exam board. The emphasis ofthis course is on the student to learn through doing. As the name suggests thisis an Applied A Level and therefore for the vast majority of the time you will beworking on computers.Further informationThe GCE in Applied ICT qualifies you to move on to study for a degree in relatedsubjects such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Multimedia, SoftwareEngineering, Computer Networking, e-Business and Information Management.You could also go on to work based training such as IT User/Practitioner NVQs.This qualification would also complement many other subjects in highereducation including Business, Science, Engineering and Humanities.33
