So: theexpectation is that species with narrow nichbreadths will also have small geographic ranges. The Japanese army invaded fromthe North and by 1937 reached the city of Nanjing.What ensued was a mass murder of over anestimated 300,000 soldiers and civilians in an eventstill raw with emotion. There has been considerableeffort to conceal the war crimes and atrocitiescarried out by Japanese soldiers which includedrape, beheading, torture, looting, burying alive, anddismemberment. The goal of my research is toshowcase Sino-Japanese relations since WWII andmore importantly modern relations on the subject.It remains emotionally charged among manyChinese and Japanese to this day, young and old. Myperspective as a young American citizen may bringa unique perspective in the study of this subject.40
