3Meet the FreshmenThis year, the freshmen class at West Lutheran High School consists of 40 studentsthat come from a variety of Lutheran Elementary grade schools in addition toa few public schools. This fun-loving group of ninth graders has enjoyed their firstfew weeks getting their feet wet with the whole high school scene. With commonclasses, sports teams, and other extracurricular activities, these kids have hadsome great bonding experiences.One such experience took place on September 8 th when the West freshmen wentto the YMCA Camp Iduhapi in Loretto, MN for an afternoon of team building. Thestudents and three faculty members had the opportunity to watch these young peoplego through a number of games, brain teasers, and other group team buildingexercises that help build friendships and strengthen already solid Christian friendships.The overall experience was quite successful and has been successful asWest Lutheran High School has been going to Iduhapi for the past eight years.AssociationCongregationsWest Lutheran High School isblessed to have 20 associationcongregations thatsupport the mission of thehigh school. Thestudents have an opportunity to interact with their grandparents as well as show offtheir school, and the grandparents can see what the grandkids are doing in school.This year was especially a lot of fun since Grandparents’ Day was on October 8 thduring Homecoming Week, and of all days--Spirit Day. Our visitors enjoyed a lot ofenergy from the students that day.Our grandparents enjoyed a Chapel led by Mr. Jensen, attended classes, thenpizza for lunch. Thank you grandparents for an enjoyable day.WARRIOR FOR A DAYOctober 18th was a special day for WestLutheran, over 120 sixth, seventh, andeighth graders were our guests for Warriorfor a Day. He will be adding a bachelors degree in psychology to hisassociate degree in criminal justice and then enrolling in the police academy.Adam (’00) and April Glodowski announced the birth of their daughter, Ava Lynn, on October 13, 2010. She was 8 lbs. 5 oz.and 21 inches long at birth.
