A major site specific challengewas installing an erosion control product on asteep, long slope with a 300 ft drop at the bottom. Theproduct of choice was required to be installed by hand asmachines are not safe on the slope.GEOWEB® SLOPE PROTECTION SOLUTIONAfter evaluating several hard armor systems, the USACEselected Presto Geosystems’ GEOWEB cellular confinementsystem with gravel and concrete infill. The GEOWEBsystem met the installation requirements in the restrictedarea along with minimal long-term maintenance.Concrete being poured within theGEOWEB structure’s cells. An up-close look of aggregate withinthe GEOWEB confinement system.

But Jeff Russell fromSchwartz Excavating wasn’t about to compromise.“We were dead set on using the Presto GEOWEB® cellular confinementsystem due to the patented ATRA keys, ATRA clips and theability to use the GAD attachment with a Hilti air hammer. Thesefeatures have drastically cut our installation costs down while givingus the highest performing finished product.”- Jeff Russell, Schwartz Excavating GEOWEB sections are quick and easyto connect with ATRA® keys. The keysare three times faster and three timesstronger than stapling. The GEOWEB system with aggregateand concrete infill provides a flexible,hard-armored slope cover.MCCOOK QUARRY DURING THE GEOWEB INSTALLATION PROCESS“The GEOWEB system madesense on several fronts.
