<strong>2006</strong> Game <strong>Recap</strong>sGame 11 - Northern Illinois 31, CMU 10November 17 • DeKalb, IllinoisGarrett Wolfe ran for 203 yards and three touchdowns to leadNorthern Illinois to a 31-10 win.NIU controlled the contest from the outset, driving for touchdownson three of its first four possessions while holding the Chippewas tothree punts and a pair of turnovers in the first half. The Huskies held a214-140 edge in total offense in the opening two quarters.Wolfe scored on runs of 10 and 2 yards, respectively, to cap NIU’sfirst two drives, while Dan Nicholson tossed a 20-yard touchdown passto David Koronkiewicz midway through the second quarter to make it21-0.The Chippewas drew no closer than 14 points in the second half.Dan LeFevour threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Ontario Sneed tomake it 21-7, and after NIU’s Chris Nendick and CMU’s Rick Albreskitraded field goals, Wolfe scored on a 13-yard run in the closingminutes.Wolfe amassed his 203 yards on 33 carries. He passed MichaelTurner to become NIU’s all-time leading rusher with 4,972 yards. Itwas his third game this season with at least 200 rushing yards and10th of his career.LeFevour completed 25-of-42 passes for 217 yards and ran 10times for a career-high 88 yards for CMU. Nicholsoncame off the bench to complete 11-of-18 passes for 116 yards and ascore.Game 12 - CMU 55, Buffalo 28November 24 • Buffalo, New YorkCMU secured an outright MAC West Division title in dominatingfashion, rolling to a 55-28 win.Tim Brazzel set the tone for the contest in the opening seconds,scooping the opening kickoff off the turf and racing nearly untouchedto the end zone. The CMU defense forced a three-and-out, and Brazzelblocked a punt that the Chippewas recovered at the UB 23. MarcelArcher scored on a 1-yard run, and a two-point conversion made it14-0 less than four minutes into the contest.The Bulls answered with a Steven King 1-yard touchdown run, butLeFevour responded just two plays later, hitting a wide-open JustinGardner down the middle of the field for a 66-yard touchdown.Buffalo punted three times and fumbled on its next fourpossessions; meanwhile, LeFevour threw scoring passes of 11 and12 yards to Bryan Anderson and ran 2 yards for a touchdown.
