Peter was a Senior Lecturer with theFaculty of Information Technology at QUT forover 15 years. Please do not hesitate tomake contact if you are concerned or curiousabout your son’s progress.CommunityA key characteristic of a Catholic school inthe Edmund Rice Tradition is the creation ofcommunity through partnerships. At the lasttwo assemblies we have seen a wonderfularray of examples of partnerships betweenstudents, students and staff, students andparents and parents and staff. This has beenexhibited through the presentation ofacademic medals, music performances,mooting success, spirit gee ups from theseniors and presentation of GPS sportingteams. It takes a village to raise a child and<strong>Nudgee</strong> is no small village – thank you toeveryone who continues to enter into thepartnerships which are needed at <strong>Nudgee</strong>.Over the past three weeks in my new role Ihave met with dozens of parents and theirsons across a range of issues and I have beenhumbled by the trust, honesty and sinceritydemonstrated and shared in these meetingsover sometimes difficult topics and issues.Pastoral partnerships between teachers,students, House Tutors, House Deans, Headsof Boarding House and other roles at theschool are vital in creating the community wewish to be and become.Athletics Day and Big BrekkieParticipation and co-operation were fantasticat the Athletics Day.
