Gale S. Walcott, a major inAccounting, is the recipient of the GleimCPA Review Award and is also a memberof the National Association of BlackAccountants and the New York StateAccounting Society. Upon graduation,Gale plans to continue her studies.Jennifer Washington, a dualmajor in Marketing and Management, willgraduate cum laude. She is the recipientof the School of Business Advisory BoardAward and was recently selected as one ofthe 50 Most Promising Minority Studentsin the nation by the American Advertising Federation.Jennifer is also a member of the Alpha Chi National CollegeHonor Scholarship Society and the New York Consortiumof Information and Telecommunications Executives.Upon graduation, Jennifer plans to work with VerizonCommunications and attend graduate school at <strong>Long</strong><strong>Island</strong> <strong>University</strong>.Alicia Erin White, a majorin Interdisciplinary Studies with aconcentration in Peace and ConflictResolution Studies, is the UndergraduateSymbolic Recipient for Global College.She is the Arts Coordinator for theBuilding Bridges for Peace Program and also works with aGrassroots Non-Profit Organization.Jessica Wicksman, a major inPsychology, is the recipient of the StudentService Award. She is the president ofS.E.T. 4 U and a member of the ARTClub, the Caribbean Students Movement,and the Women’s Basketball team.Andrea L. Williams, amajor in Accounting, is the recipientof the Leo Schloss Excellence inAccounting Award. Upon graduation,Andrea plans to work with CBSTelevision Stations Group.Simmona Young, a B.S./M.S.Finance and Accounting student, willgraduate magna cum laude. She is therecipient of the School of BusinessAdvisory Board Award, the Becker CPAReview Course Award, and the LeoSchloss Excellence in Accounting Award. Simmona, whois listed in Who's Who Among Students in AmericanUniversities and Colleges for the second year in a row, isalso a member of the New York State Society of CPA’s, theAmerican Institute of CPA’s, the Institute of ManagementAccountants, the Association of Government Accountants,the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Societyand the Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society. Simmonais also the Co-Chair of the Career Opportunities in theAccounting Profession Organization and the Chair of theInternal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax AssistanceProgram. Upon graduation, Simmona plans to continue herstudies at <strong>Long</strong> <strong>Island</strong> <strong>University</strong> while working at her owntax practice.24
