Recommendations1. Addressing immediately the current severe food crisis and preventing a potential famine bysupporting affected families the entire vulnerable period through widespread foodsupplementation or general food distribution.2. Continue monitoring the situation as long as it is required, until current crisis is over.3. Prevent mortality and morbidity in all vulnerable groups and in malnourished children under 5years of age by implementing specific nutrition programmes using RUTF.4. Improve access to safe drinking water through specific programmes.5. Improve access to basic health care and speed up the implementation of the GF provision foraccess to quality diagnostic and treatment for malaria especially in the remote areas.6. Advocate for middle to long term tailored strategies addressing food security and restorationof livelihoods including distribution of seeds for replanting, vector control, consultancy interms of rotation of crops etc.25
