This two-day class is designed <strong>for</strong> junior <strong>Navy</strong> personnel who will learn about properbudgeting techniques, credit management, savings and investment options, insurance needs, military pay and allowances,consumer rip-offs, how to obtain a loan, and new and used car purchasing techniques.$MILLION$ DOLLAR SPOUSE. A two-day class designed <strong>for</strong> military spouses. Students will learn about proper budgetingtechniques, credit management and repair, savings and investments to include Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and o<strong>the</strong>r financialissues unique to <strong>the</strong> military spouse.NEW MOMS AND DADS. New and soon-to-be parents (or those who are thinking about becoming parents) will learn about<strong>the</strong> roles, responsibilities, demands and joys of being parents. The session will also include early childhood social, emotionaland physical development, crying and consoling, basic care in<strong>for</strong>mation, and what to expect in <strong>the</strong> first year.NEW PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAM MONTHLY EVENTS. This mandatory counseling covers VA benefits and entitlements, employment,education, medical, and community resources, among o<strong>the</strong>rs.RETIREMENT TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (R-TAP) SEMINAR. This four-day seminar provides vital career/employment in<strong>for</strong>mation and assists all military members and <strong>the</strong>ir spouses within TWO YEARS of retirement with asmoo<strong>the</strong>r transition from military to civilian life. Class fills rapidly. Registration <strong>for</strong> <strong>Navy</strong> personnel is required through <strong>the</strong>service member’s Command Career Counselor.


SAPR VICTIM ADVOCATE INITIAL TRAINING. Active duty <strong>Navy</strong> volunteers will be trained as SAPR Victim Advocates whowill be responsible <strong>for</strong> providing in<strong>for</strong>mation and emotional support <strong>for</strong> sexual assault victims during medical, investigative,and legal processes. Deployable commands are required per OPNAVINST 1752.1B to have trained SAVI Victim Advocates.Contact <strong>the</strong> Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) <strong>for</strong> more in<strong>for</strong>mation and to <strong>register</strong>.SAPR VICTIM ADVOCATE AND COMMAND LIAISON REFRESHER TRAINING. A one-hour class that explains <strong>the</strong> Thrift Savings Program, <strong>the</strong> different funds that areavailable to invest in, and what <strong>the</strong>se funds consist of.WOMEN’S GROUP. This group offers women a com<strong>for</strong>table place to learn about <strong>the</strong> dynamics of domestic abuse in asupportive, confidential atmosphere with <strong>the</strong> opportunity to meet and share with o<strong>the</strong>rs who have had similar experiences.
