The wood blocks wereselected randomly and hung inside the bottles above the solution using stainlesssteel wire (Fig 2a). The controls were inoculated with plain agar discs (Fig. 2b).The inoculated and the control wood blocks were incubated for 3 months at threedifferent temperatures viz. 20,30 and 40 0 C. Each treatment had five inoculatedand five control blocks. The growth of fungi over the surface of wood blocks wasexamined visually and assessed using the following rating index (Table 2) afterfour weeks of incubation.
