Transportation is the key to both. The Atlanta Regional Commission sited in a recently published Data Fact Sheet for CobbCounty Transportation Services that currently 91percent of Cobb County’s older adults (ages60 and older) drive themselves. When they can no longer drive, 57 percent are hopingsomeone else will be able to drive them while 24 percent have no idea how they will getaround. In 2008, Cobb DOT began implementing recommendations from the 2007 DOTSenior Adult Transportation Study (SATS). Strategies include enhancing current transportationservices, supporting alternative transportation opportunities and increasing transportationresources. 3
