Their researchcan help SMEs to develop new social mediastrategies and provide them with the socialmedia marketing tools and techniques theyneed to effectively engage with new businessopportunities and expand into new markets.Social mobilityThe research also highlights that although thereare some common social networks amongstbusinesses, such as LinkedIn and Twitter, othercountry-specific networks are also popular, suchas Xing in Germany and Vladeo in France.The vast majority <strong>of</strong> students, on the otherhand, use Facebook. “Social media can help toplay an important role in fostering mobility andbreaking down cultural barriers,” says Aleksej.“For young people, traditional country bordersare no longer obstacles when it comes todeveloping their networks.”Further details about the project, includingthe social media guides and details about thevarious European partners, are available at:www.businessculture.org.
