Prayer Group prays for interim process
On the first and
third Tuesdays of
each month, at 7
pm, you will find a
group of 6 to 8 people
in our church
conference room
praying for the future
of our parish.
The prayer meet-
For Father Barnett: Give him
grace and wisdom to do the job
God has called him to do.
For Bishop Miller and Presiding
Bishop Griswald: Give them
wisdom, caring and strength to do
the work you have called them to
do.
For our parish family: Help us
to be loving, caring and open to
God’s leading in our lives, especially
our corporate life. For our
physical, mental and spiritual
health.
For the Vestry: Give them
strength and wisdom. Help us all
to support them in our prayers
and with our actions.
For more wise, competent and
dedicated leadership to step forward
in the parish.
For the Cottage Meetings: —
That there be lots of participation.
Guide us in answering the questions
we will be asked and help us
not be fearful.
For patience and insight.
For the Christian formation
and Youth programs: Give them
strong adult leaders.

Help us to remember that
we gather in the name of Christ
and commit to making Jesus present
here. Help us to see the Holy
Spirit moving in the lives of our
parish family.
Turn our hearts to sacrificial
giving of our time, treasure and
enthusiasm. Help us trust God
to lead us and to expect miracles
in our lives and at St. Matthias.
Heal any negative attitudes in us.
Fill us with your Spirit.
For unity in our parish and respect
for all persons.
For Christ’s welcoming spirit to

Font-astic discovery
A magnificent cage has been returned
to its old resting place atop the
baptismal font downtown.
The ornately carved cage, which
opens for use (as shown), is topped
with a dove finial.
It hadn’t been used in more than a
decade and was discovered by Steve
Wood and Ted Allen in the attic above
the storage shed. With the blessing of
Fr. Barnett, it was reinstalled atop the
font at the back of the nave.

name of this piece or its history, please
let Fr. Barnett know.
Appropriately, November is the
month of both Thanksgiving and
the St. Matthias stewardship drive.
When you make your pledge this
month, think of all God has provided
for you and show him your
gratitude by being
generous enough to
give more back.
Draw up a plan to
work toward tithing
in giving of your time
and treasure.
