JihadThe innermost heart is the kingdom of Allah.That is where His essence 13 can be found. Thesecret 14 of the eighteen thousand universes andthe secret of this world are contained withinthat heart. Allah’s messengers, Hisrepresentatives Es, the angels, prophets, saints,the resplendently pure souls, and His lightwithin the soul are all to be found in a tiny pointwithin the heart. Within that atom is containedHis entire kingdom, the kingdom of truth andjustice and purity, the kingdom of heaven, thekingdom of enlightened wisdom . 15The eighteen thousand universes are within16that kingdom of light and divine knowledge,and Allah is the ruler of all those universes. Hisinfinite power, His three thousand graciousqualities, His ninety-nine attributes, 17 Hiscompassion, peace, unity, and equality are allfound within those universes. That is theinnermost heart, His kingdom of true faith andjustice, where one can find peace.Until we reach that kingdom, we have to wagea holy war within ourselves. To show us how tocut away this enemy within and to teach us howto establish the connection with Him, Allah sentdown 124,000 prophets, twenty-five of whom aredescribed thoroughly in the Quran. Theseprophets came to teach us how to wage holywar against the inner enemy. This battle withinshould be fought with faith, certitude, anddetermination, with the kalimah, and with theQuran. No blood is shed in this war. Holdingthe sword of wisdom, faith, certitude, andjustice, we must cut away the evil forces thatkeep charging at us in different forms. This isthe inner jihad.My brothers in Iman-Islam, we must cut awaythe qualities which oppose Allah. There are noother enemies. Allah has no enemies. If anyonewere to oppose Allah, the All-Powerful, UniqueOne, that person could never be victorious. Youcannot raise or lower Allah.74 Masjid Khadijah
