Exit on Willowpass Road and turn East (right if you have been driving north on I-680 and left if you have been going south). One block down, you will see thehotel on your left. Turn on Diamond Boulevard into the hotel.Parking on CampusPark in Lot 8, near the Performing Arts Center. Permits are for sale at machinesin the lot. You will not need a permit on Saturday or Sunday. Friday, you willneed one.EventsTeam Policy Debate:We will have six preliminary rounds on the 2009-2010 CEDA resolution withappropriate numbers of elimination rounds per division. There will be threedivisions (Novice/Junior/Open). We will follow CEDA rules for eligibility. Ifcollapsing of divisions is warranted, it will be our priority to maintain a purenovice division first. Time limits will be 9-3-6 with 10 minutes of prep. Rounds 1and 2 will be preset, 3 and 4 will be lagged off 1 and 2, and 5 and 6 will bepowered separately. Teams will advance to elimination rounds based on thefollowing criteria: win/loss, total speaker points, adjusted speaker points, doubleadjustedspeaker points, and ranks. Brackets will not be broken. Policy debaterswill not be able to participate in individual events. DVC students may competeand will be eligible for elimination debates and awards. One critic covers twodebate teams. A policy critic cannot judge IE’s or Parli, since they will be runconcurrently. Hybrid teams will be allowed to clear to elimination rounds butthree person teams will not.
