He has been practicinglaw for 36 years and is licensed to practice in his native state of Arkansas, in addition to the District ofColumbia and South Carolina where he was in private practice for 11 years just prior to joining HomeSchool Legal Defense Association. As Senior Counsel at HSLDA for the past 20 years, Dee is responsiblefor legal matters involving the Association’s members in 14 states, including Pennsylvania.Melinda BoringArmed with a degree in education and her M.A. in speech/language pathology, Melinda and herhusband felt led to homeschool their children. Recognizing that two of her children were strugglinglearners, Melinda applied herself to find ways to meet those needs as well as those of her typicallydeveloping child. Despite her many prayers, Melinda’s children continued to present her withchallenges that made her become a better teacher than she wanted to have to be! As only God can, Henow uses those difficult times to bless others through Melinda’s presentations as she shares over 15years of experience as a homeschooler. Melinda’s oldest two children graduated from their homeschoolin May 2006, and although she is adjusting to life as an “empty desker” of two, she continues tohomeschool her youngest child. Melinda Boring, MA-CCC/SLP, also has over 20 years of experienceas a licensed and certified speech therapist.Susan ChrismanSusan and Jerry Chrisman were pioneer homeschoolers, beginning their journey in home education in 1985.The Chrismans have five children and three grandsons. They have served on the board of trustees for theOklahoma Christian Home Educators’ Consociation since 2001. Susan is the Editor of Publications and theLeaders’ Retreat Coordinator. She also co-directs the Oklahoma City Charlotte Mason Discussion Group, andhas published a homeschool resource called The Practical Planner for Home Education which is available onher website at www.lifelonglearnersonline.com. Susan founded a resource service called Lifelong Learnersto encourage parents (especially moms) in the training and education of their children. She speaks to supportgroups, at moms’ retreats, and at homeschool conventions. Susan’s heart and calling are to guide moms inunderstanding the true education of the whole person, an application of Mark 12:30: “You shall love the Lordyour God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”Mark HambyMark Hamby (M.S., M.Div., Th.M., D. Min. cand.) is founder and president of Lamplighter MinistriesInternational. He lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania with his wife Debbie. They have three adultchildren living in various parts of the country. Jennifer is the graphic arts and illustration director forLamplighter. David works for Apple and oversees video production for Lamplighter. Jonathan, theireldest, is married, lives in California as a commercial broker, and functions as his dad’s personalcounselor! As author, speaker, and Bible teacher, what Mark enjoys most is helping his audience toremove the mask in order to expose the heart.
