A <strong>Christian</strong>biography presentation will also be given on the life <strong>of</strong> SamuelF. B. Morse. Gregorio (the third most famous groundhog inPennsylvania) will also make an appearance. As they are havingfun, the students will be reminded <strong>of</strong> the ever important truth to“remember their Creator in the days <strong>of</strong> their youth.”4. For the past three years our Teen Track has sold out early,so this year we have enlarged the Teen Track by moving itto a larger room. Join the team from Generation Joshua foriElect: A Mock Presidential Election. Participants will take partin a mock presidential campaign that includes caucus work, aprimary race, voter registration, fundraising, commercials,campaigning, and actual voting. Participants will be assignedto a mock political party, design their own party platform, electtheir own candidates from among themselves, and raise GenJmoney to buy commercials, campaign materials, advertisements,etc. Parents and other conference attendees are involved byregistering to vote, donating play money (parents will be providedwith the money), and by voting for their favorite candidate.Students simulate the rigors <strong>of</strong> the electoral process by personallycampaigning for a candidate <strong>of</strong> their choice. At each phase<strong>of</strong> the program, students will learn how a real election worksby actually participating in the presidential race and makingimportant decisions that could make or break their campaign.The program is designed to be interactive, even getting parentsand other attendees involved in the process. Teens will enjoy thehands-on nature that the program <strong>of</strong>fers.The GenJ sessions will take place during two morning and twoafternoon sessions each day for a total <strong>of</strong> 8 sessions. The costwill be $15 per student. This schedule allows ample time for theteens to spend time with their parents in the Vendor Hall andeating lunch.5. A Used Curriculum Sale - An opportunity for attendees tobuy and sell used curriculum. Start gathering those no longerneeded educational items and watch for the details <strong>of</strong> how youcan sell them at the CHAP <strong>Convention</strong>. Sellers will enter onlineall items for sale, prepare the items with the required labels, andbring them to the convention during the drop-<strong>of</strong>f times. CHAPwill process the items and do all the sales work for you. Thisyear the deadline to enter items online for the sale was Sunday,May 1. Sellers will have the option <strong>of</strong> reclaiming any unsolditems on Saturday afternoon at the end <strong>of</strong> the Used CurriculumSale or they will be able to donate unsold items. The seller willreceive a check within 60 days <strong>of</strong> the convention for 75% <strong>of</strong> theselling cost <strong>of</strong> all their items. Check out the CHAP website forthe Used Curriculum Sale information link.6. Support Group Leaders’ Town Hall - Stop by the CHAPBooth to register for the Support Group Leaders’ Town HallMeeting. This session is for past, present, or future supportgroup leaders to share and help each other. Join other supportgroup leaders for a time to share ideas and to garner support.Todd Wilson will lead a special time <strong>of</strong> encouragement at thebeginning <strong>of</strong> this meeting.7. Last year, CHAP introduced Vendor Sessions where you canlearn about products and services sold by the vendors. Theidea was good, but our locations were not. This year, the vendorsessions will be in real rooms so the sound should be perfect. Itis a great opportunity for you to get your questions answered andsee what vendors have to <strong>of</strong>fer. Check the workshop schedule tosee which vendors will be presenting informative sessions.8. Guest Speakers include Ken Ham (www.answersingenesis.org) and Doug Phillips (www.visionformum.org). Special andFeatured Speakers include Dewitt Black, Melinda Boring, SusanChrisman, Mark Hamby, Chris Hogan, Steve and Teri Maxwell,Phillip Telfer, and Todd Wilson. In addition, there are manyworkshop speakers who will be speaking.9. Two New <strong>Christian</strong> Film Premieres for your family’spleasure. CHAP is blessed to be <strong>of</strong>fering the opportunity forattendees at the convention to view either one or both <strong>of</strong> twonewly released <strong>Christian</strong> films free <strong>of</strong> charge. The films will beshown both days <strong>of</strong> the convention.Milltown PrideGood <strong>Christian</strong> films are something most <strong>of</strong> us recognize theindustry needs. For sixty years, Unusual Films, a division <strong>of</strong> BobJones University, has produced quality, family-friendly films,including the award-winning Sheffey. And now, Unusual Filmsis pleased to announce its latest feature-length film: MilltownPride. It premiered on the campus <strong>of</strong> Bob Jones University April8, 2011.This original film story, set in America in the 1920s, depicts lifein a southern textile milltown.
