Fairfi eld United versus Blaenavon Blues
Annual Memorial Match for Former Player
Jeff Webb
Fairfi eld United have joined forces with local rivals and old friends
Blaenavon Blues to remember a former player.
Jeff Webb sadly passed away on 26th May 2009, aged 46.
The two clubs have decided the best way to remember Jeff is with an
annual game in Jeff’s memory.
Fairfi eld United’s committee approached Blaenavon Blues who have
confi rmed that they would be honoured to compete for the annual trophy.
Jeff played for both Fairfi eld United and the Blaenavon Blues and
was a superb natural footballer, not the biggest, but could read the
game better than most and would always put his body on the line
for his side.
The fi rst game that the two clubs will compete for the
Jeff Webb Memorial cup will be when the sides meet at the
Memorial ground (Home to Blaenavon Blues) in the
Gwent County league division one fi xture.
The game will kick off 6:15pm on Tuesday 21st August.
Blaenavon Blues AFC would like to wish Fairfi eld all the best
in todays encounter and we hope that the Jeff Webb Memorial cup
is a huge success and will continue to be for many years.
