CITYMONTESSORISCHOOL,LUCKNOW-WEEKLYNEWSLETTERVol. I • Issue 12 • 26 September -04 October 2011Two-day 'Kids Bonanza' organized by CMS Station RoadCurtainsdrewasidetogivewaytothemuchawaitedculturalfiesta for students of pre-primary classes the "Kids Bonanzafor Fun &Learning" organized by CMS, Station Road at CMSKanpur Road auditorium on 26 and 27 September 2011.Around 1800 children of Montessori, Nursery andKindergarten classes representing 33 schools of the citycompeted in 13 different events at the Kids Bonanza andshowcased theirmultisidedgenius.ContestsincludedColourAllAround,DoughTimeandFancyDress,FolkDance,TearingandPasting,RhymeandRhythmandAerobics,collage,papermagic, skit presentation, kids quiz, colour splash, percussionand so on. Loud clapping and cheering motivated the littleones to put in their best foot forward as they lapped up theunstained praise and adulation of the elders watching them.Earlier,theChiefGuest,MrKSAtoria,IAS,PrincipalSecretary,Irrigation,UP,formallyinauguratedthefunctionanddeclaredtheKids Bonanza open.On this occasion, Founder of CMS and renowned educationist, Dr JagdishGandhi; Chief OperatingOfficer of CMS, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon and other dignitarieswerealsopresent.On this occasion, the Chief Guest Mr KSAtoria, IAS, PrincipalSecretary, Irrigation, UP, expressed his profound happiness atbeing present on this momentous occasion amongst the tiny-tots.Hewashighlyimpressedwiththetalentsofthekidsinmusic,dance,poetryandart.Hesaidthatwitnessingthewonderfultalentsofthechildren, he was sure that India had abright future and it is thesechildren who will grow up to give anew direction to humanityjustifying India's claim as 'Jagat Guru'. He said that CMS wasforemost in leading change in society by presenting arole modelbefore all. He said that education today must prepare students tomeet the challenges of aglobal society and CMS is imparting thismeaningful education to its students making them World CitizensandTotalQualityPersons.Convenor of Kids Bonanza and Principal of CMS Station Roadcampus,MrsArunaGuptasaidonthisoccasionthattheseeventsareorganizedtoprovideacommonplatformtochildrentodevelop their talents. She said that the elementary education imparted to children shapes the personality of children. Theeventisorganizedwiththeaimtomakeeachandeverychildtalentedandskilledinallaspectsandempoweredtobecomethegift of God and pride for the human race.The Bonanza came to agrand conclusion on 27 September after a string of highlyinterestingcompetitiveitems.The Chief Guest for the final day of Kids Bonanza, MrsAnuradha Goel, Joint Secretary, Cultural Department, UP,inaugurated thesecond day'seventsand gaveaway the prizes tothe winners and participants. Anand Nagar campus won the toss anddecided to field first. CMS Mahanagar (Campus III) scored149runsin20overswith21and23runsofpersonalscoresofMaster Arpit and Master Shivarth respectively. CMS AnandNagarcampuslost all wicketsin8.2 oversonly with27runsoftotalscore.MasterAyushofCMSMahanagar(CampusIII)took6wickets.CMS teachers take out'Ahimsa March' on Gandhi JayantiOver three thousandteachersandworkersof City MontessoriSchool took out alarge'AhimsaMarch',clad in white 'Khadi'on 2October, GandhiJa yanti a nd'InternationalAhimsaDay' with theobjective to spread the message to imbibe the concept of Bapu,father of the nation. The 'Ahimsa March' of CMS teacherscommenced on 2October at 8.00 am atPurani Chungi, KanpurRoad and convertedinto a large assemblyon reaching KanpurRoad auditorium.Founders of CMS andr e n o w n e deducationists, DrJagdish Gandhi and Dr(Mrs) Bharti Gandhi led the march while several literary figures,educationists,journalists,othereminentpersonalitiesandPrincipalsofallCMScampuseswerealsobepresentintheMarch.CMS students team leaves for educational excursion to GoaA128-member studentsteam of CMS Kanpur Road campus left fornine-day educational excursion to Goa. During this tour, studentswill be visiting theeducational, historicand natural places ofGoa and would belearning the customs,culture and tradition,life-style, food habitsand other things veryclosely.CMS Chowk Campus dominates in SwimmingContests at CMS Aquatic MeetCMS inter-campusAquatic Meet wasorganizedatCMSKanpurRoad swimming pool inwhich young andtalented swimmers from14 CMS campusesparticipated. In the Boys'section, CMS Chowkcampus proved the bestandscoredthemaximumnumberof76pointswhileamongthegirls, it was CMS Kanpur Road which outshone the rest andscored the highest number of 56 points thus grabbing thechampionship.
