Over the years she hastransformed from being my teacher to my mentor. Now thatI look back on the day I first met her, I realise that I have beenvery lucky indeed.My story begins on my first day I was a new student, and I feltas uncomfortable as a fish out of water. Don't get me wrong,all the students were very friendly and were willing to helpme, but I still felt shy. Things turned interesting when I heardthat an inter-house elocution competition was to be heldthe next day. Influenced by a sudden burst of courage, Ivolunteered for it. After all, I had to earn reputation.The next day, the competition began in the MorningAssembly, and every orator's worst nightmare came true forme — I started having hiccups. In front of everyone, rightinto the microphone. Words fail to describe how mollified Ifelt. My classmates did not say anything to me directly, butthey did look at me with silent disgust.I spent the recess in an isolated corner, too miserable to cry.That was when my class teacher found me. Within seconds,she understood everything. She talked to me soothingly,and after that, I never, ever felt out of place.Over the years, she has truly become my mentor. Her tipsand suggestions have proven to be invaluable more timesthan I can count. I'm trying not to preach anything, but trustme, once we amend our perspective, we'll realize that everyteacher has our best interests at heart. After qualifying inthese tough competitive exams, only fivestudents including Rahul were selectedfor the International Olympiad torepresent the country in Estonia.Participants from 80 countries of theWinners of Primary category,Q0 ,e0 çlkj.k le; lkfj.kh%Winners of Senior categoryworld competed in the InternationalPhysics Olympiad in which Rahul Trivediwas awarded a gold medal, thus provinghis calibre at the global level. This year, atotal of 378 students from 80 countriesof the world participated in the IPhO(International Physics Olympiad) ofwhich 45 were awarded gold medals, 71received silver medals while 92 receivedthe bronze and 63 students completedthe Olympiad with honours. Rahul is theonly participant from India to get theGold Medal.
