Vice Admiral Henry C. MustinHenry C. Mustin was born in Bremerton, Washington on 31 August, 1933. He isthe son of Vice Admiral and Mrs. Uoyd M. Mustin, <strong>US</strong>N (Ret.) He was graduatedfrom Coronado High School, Coronado, California, in 1950 and attended theUniversity of Virginia for one year prior to entering the U.S. <strong>Naval</strong> Academy. He wasgraduated and commissioned an ensign 3 June 1955.Vice Admiral Mustin has served at sea in both the Pacific and Atlantic fleets in<strong>US</strong>S DUNCAN (DDR 874); Commanding Officer, <strong>US</strong>S BUNTING (MHC 45);<strong>US</strong>S LAWRENCE (DDG 4); and <strong>US</strong>S CONYGHAM (DOG 17), in both of which hewas a member of the commissioning crews; Commanding Officer, <strong>US</strong>S HENRY 8.WILSON (DOG 7); Commander Destroyer Squadron 12, homeported in Athens,Greece; Commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group TWO; and Commander, SECONDfleet.He has served ashore as flag Secretary to Commander, U.S. <strong>Naval</strong> ForcesVietnam; with the Delta River Patrol Group; as Aide and flag Lieutenant to theCommander in Chief, Pacific; three tours in the Office of the Chief of <strong>Naval</strong>Operations; Executive Assistant to the Commander in Chief, U.S. <strong>Naval</strong> Forces,Europe; Director, Surface Combat Systems Division, Office of the Chief of <strong>Naval</strong>Operations; Deputy Commander, <strong>Naval</strong> Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic fleet; and as<strong>Naval</strong> Inspector General.Vice Admiral Mustin is a graduate of the <strong>Naval</strong> Postgraduate School (ElectricalEngineering), of the School of Command and Staff, U.S. <strong>Naval</strong> <strong>War</strong> CoUege, and ofthe School of International Affairs of Georgetown University.Vice Admiral Mustin's decorations include the Legion of Merit with two Gold Stars,Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V" and two Gold Stars, Meritorious Service Medal,Air Medal with one Gold Star, Joint Service Commendation Medal, NavyCommendation Medal with Combat "V", Navy Achievement Medal, Combat ActionRibbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious UnitCommendation, Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba), China Service Medal, NationalDefense Service Medal with one bronze star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal(Cuba), and foreign decorations and awards.Vice Admiral Mustin is married to the former Lucy Jane Holcomb of Alexandria,Virginia. They have three sons (Ensign Uoyd M. Mustin II, <strong>US</strong>NR; Thomas; andJohn) and a daughter, Katherine. The family currently resides in Quarters V at theNavy Yard.

Baldwin, Jr., a native of Baltimore, Maryland, wasgraduated from the U.S. <strong>Naval</strong> Academy, Annapolis, Maryland and commis·sioned as Ensign, U.S. Navy in June 1955.Rear Admiral Baldwin has served at sea in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleetsin <strong>US</strong>S DENNIS J. BUCKLEY (DDR·808), <strong>US</strong>S GAINARD (DD.706), <strong>US</strong>SJEFFERSON COUNTY (LST·845), and <strong>US</strong>S JOHNSTON (DD-821). Hisfirst command was <strong>US</strong>S MARYSVILLE (EPCER·857). He subsequentlycommanded <strong>US</strong>S JOHN R. PERRY (DE-I034), commissioned <strong>US</strong>SMEYERKORD (DE.1058) as her first Commanding Officer, and commandedDestroyer Squadron THIRTY-THREE and Cruiser· Destroyer Group THREE.While in command of Cruiser· Destroyer Group THREE, RADM Baldwin alsocommanded the KITTY HAWK Battle Group during a deployment to' theWestern Pacific and Indian Oceans. He is currently serving as President of the<strong>Naval</strong> <strong>War</strong> <strong>College</strong>.Rear Admiral Baldwin has served ashore with the U.S. <strong>Naval</strong> Small CraftFacility at the <strong>Naval</strong> Academy; at the University of Washington, Seattle,Washington for postgraduate education in Oceanography; on the staff of theOceanographer of the Navy; as the senior advisor to the Vietnamese Navy inMilitary Region II; as part of, and subsequently head of the Sea Control ForcesGroup in the Systems Analysts Division of the Office of the Chief of <strong>Naval</strong>Operations; as Deputy Director of the Office of Program Appraisal in the Officeof the Secretary of the Navy; as Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy;as Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense; as the Director of theSystems Analysis Division in the Office of the Chief of <strong>Naval</strong> Operations; and asDeputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans on the staff of the Commander inChief U.S. Pacific Fleet.Rear Admiral Baldwin's decorations include the Defense Distinguished ServiceMedal, the Legion of Merit with Gold Star, the Bronze Star with Combat "V," theMeritorious Service Medal, and the Vietnamese Honor Medal First Class.
