Job description and person specificationJob Holder:Job Title:Division:Reports To:Key Relationships:Job Summary:TBACapital ActuaryRisk & Capital ManagementSenior Capital ActuaryMembers of Risk Management, Actuarial, Finance, and Underwriting teamsTo be responsible for the Group’s capital model.Key Responsibilities:• To prepare the Internal Model Capital Assessments• To use the internal model to answer business and risk management questions• To ensure that the capital model meets the Solvency II standards• Managing the processes to bring to together inputs for all model components• Ensure that the evidence/documents required by regulators is in place• Assisting with using the model to help inform business decisions• Assisting with the catastrophe, large claims and credit risk modelling• Setting up and monitoring model runs• Analysing output from the model for reasonableness• Preparing data for the Internal Model• Ensuring that the model documentation is up to date• Drafting reports to executive committees, Lloyds of London, FSAOther Responsibilities:• To develop understanding of the business that will assist producing analysis to use the internalmodel outputGeneral:• Adopt the Beazley culture of Professionalism, Integrity, Effectiveness and Dynamic attitude thatcontributes to an internal environment of teamwork and promotes a positive brand image to ourexternal customers.• Comply with Beazley procedures, policies and regulations relevant to your role. Undertakerelevant training on Beazley policies and procedures as delivered by your line manager, the TalentManagement development or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit) either directly, viae-learning or the learning management system.• Comply with any specific responsibilities necessary for your role as outlined by your line manager,the Talent Management development or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit) andensure you keep up to date with developments in these areas. This may include, amongst others,Beazley’s underwriting control standards, Beazley’s claims control standards, other Beazleystandards and customer relationship management.• Ensure that you uphold the Beazley principle of Treating Customers Fairly.• Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives orthrough the learning management system. These may include, among others, European StrategyTeam, US Management team or membership of any Beazley committees.

Personal Specification:Education and Qualifications• University degree, post-graduate preferred, in a quantitative or analytical discipline• Part qualified actuary or willing to undertake the actuarial examsSkills and Abilities• Strong modelling skills• Able to communicate effectively with internal staff and regulators, both verbally and in writing• Team worker as well as able to work on own initiative• General commercial and financial knowledge• The ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise• Strong Programming skills with exposure to MS Excel 2007, MS Access 2007, and VBA• Understanding of statistical concepts and exposure to using statistical software with an ability tolearn new technologies quicklyKnowledge and Experience• Professional work experience; exposure to insurance industry advantageous• Data analysis and researchAptitude and Disposition• Outcome focussed, flexible and enthusiastic• Interested in helping and educating others• Professional approach• Keen to interact with various departments in the groupCompetencies• Using databases (familiarity with SQL)• Programming skills (VBA preferred)• Information seeking• Self starter• Willingness to learn• Analytical thinking• Problem solver• Team work• Initiative• Integrity• AccuracySigned: …………………………………………….……..
