ChapelThe Chapel of St Thomas, dedicated and opened in 1971 by Bishop Robert Davies,has a prominent position on the Campus and in the life of Hutchins. The Chapel isopen for private prayer and quiet reflection each day during school time. Each yearthe Chaplain offers preparation courses to help boys decide whether or not theywish to be Baptised or Confirmed. All students and families are welcome to attendany service advertised in the Term Calendar. All boys from Kindergarten to Year12 attend regular services in the Chapel as part of their school life. An emphasis isplaced on students playing a significant part in these services.Burbury HouseThe Student ResidenceHutchins welcomes Australian and International students into Burbury House, theon-campus Student Residence. The Director of Boarding and the Resident HouseTutors assist Boarders during their evening or weekend study periods. Supervisionand support are also provided twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week. Care istaken to provide a firm but relaxed atmosphere where students are encouraged to beself-reliant while at the same time showing care and consideration for others.The style of accommodation offered depends on the student’s age, with olderboys usually in single rooms. Students in the Residence enjoy access to relaxationareas, computers, music rooms, a heated swimming pool, the gymnasium andtennis courts.
