sunday monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday saturdayPlastic pools, garden hose, fishing line and more...All things that are part of summer, but unfortunately, plastic pools (both rigid andinflatable), garden hose and hose reels, plastic lawn ornaments, plastic lawn furnitureare not able to be recycled with your other items at the curb. The reason: they are allmade from a non-recyclable plastic, are too large to move through the sorting machineryat the Material Recovery Facility, and in the case of garden hose and fishing line, can get tangled around the equipment.Place these items into your curbside garbage bag, or bring to the Bewdley Transfer Station, Brighton or Seymour Landfills.2 3 4 5 6 7 89 10 11 12 13 14 15JuneBRIGHTON DEPOT8:30-2:0016 Father’s Day 17 18 19 20 21 1st Day of 22Summer23 24 25 26 27 28 2930CANADIAN ENVIRONMENTAL WEEKCOBOURG DEPOT8:30-2:00SEYMOUR DEPOT8:30-2:00BEWDLEY DEPOT8:30-2:00Questions? The thoughtfulnessdoesn’t have to end there. Part of the fun ofa gift is the surprise and that excited momentwhen the present is opened. What’s not funabout the holidays is the tons of wastedwrapping paper, gift bags, bows & ribbons. Here are some ideas for alternative gift wrapping:• Use paper from magazines andnewspapers to wrap up presents for yourfriends and family – match the paper totheir hobbies and interests! Think comics, travel, movies, fashion, etc. The paperfrom these sections is usually very colorfuland interesting – just use your imagination.• Look at the boxboard packaging fromitems in your kitchen (i.e. Jello, cookies, mac & cheese, etc.) – they are very colorfuland can be used to wrap up jewelry andother small items.• Tins & other colorful containers can beused to distribute homemade baked goods.• Re-usable tote bags – a great idea forpresents at any time of the year. They’llstill serve a purpose long after the gift hasbeen given!Questions? Call us at 1-866-293-8379 or send an email message to: wastedept@northumberlandcounty.cawww.northumberlandcounty.ca
