Some of themreceived dark dreams of warning andprophecy, while others were summonedfrom the depths of the earth.When the Minotaur and his hordereturned from their war against the cityof Coristea, a war erupted in the interiorof the palace between them and thefollowers of Rhea. Hekateria the Hagwas blinded by one of the Serpents,while the Lycans and Tragos battledWildmen and Troglodytes.Even now, the battle is not decided.Rhea wants the Minotaur killed, and themonster is now aware of the threat ofthe goddess. The Minotaur knows hemust find and defile the Rhea’s templeto secure his control over the Tomb.These are the different groups livingright now in the palace:Allies of the MinotaurThe HagsThree Hags live in the Tomb of the BullKing (see Area 23). They are namedHekateria, Dulmodia and Odireta.These malevolent crones are servantsof Chaos, and travelled to the Tombmany years ago to unleash the powersof Chaos upon the island of Proteus.Hekateria is the most powerful of theHags. She fooled the Bull King inancient times and has now released theMinotaur again with the help ofParmenion. She tried to control themonster but one of the Serpents of theDark Earth that serves Rhea woundedand blinded her.The three Hags fled and now stayhidden in their quarters, protected bydark sorceries but unable to leave theirrooms. They have a small army ofDegenerate Men and other creatures toprotect them.A fiendish TragosThe Horde of the MinotaurLycans, Tragos, Ogres and Boarmenform the Horde of the Minotaur. Despitetheir defeat in Coristea and the ensuingbattles with the followers of Rhea theyremain a large and potent force.The Tragos are the strongest group?armed with weapons, breastplates,shields - and the twisted gifts of Chaos.The Lycans and Boarmen are armedwith shields and spears and frequentlyfight amongst themselves.The Ogres do not carry shields but fightinstead with big two-handed clubs.They all usually stay in the northeasternpart of the Tomb when they are notpatrolling the corridors searching for theTemple of Rhea.Ophion, the Black DragonThis great Monster lives in a fortress inthe eastern part of the Tomb. TheMinotaur released him from Tartarusafter the battle in Coristea.22
