Area 2: Theatrical AreaSections 8-9OverviewThis great northern building was atheatre in the old days, when the Tombwas alive and heavily populated. Greattheatrical works were performed here,both sacred and mundane. Now, thearea lies in ruins, which have becomethe headquarters of a warband of theBlackblood Tribe of Troglodytes.The leader of the warband is AncpahOne-Eyed, a Lizardian. He receivedprophetic dreams sent by Rhea, theancient Earth Goddess. The deityordered Ancpah to come to the Tomband fight against the Minotaur and hishorde. Ancpah convinced the leaders ofhis tribe to give him command over awarband to travel to and conquer theTomb of the Bull King. More than onehundred Troglodyte warriors answeredAncpah’s call to arms.The Troglodytes came to the Tomb andfought the Minotaur’s minions in theNorthern Propylaeum Area. ManyBeastfolk died that day, and theTroglodytes claimed the area. But theysuffered heavy losses: Ancpah wascrippled the first day, fighting againstthe Minotaur. The wound caused by theaxe of the King of Monsters cannot beregenerated. Now in agony, Ancpah issending parties into the Tomb, seekingthe Temple of Rhea, hoping that thegoddess will give him advice aboutwhat to do next.36Sections8 – Theatre EntranceDescription: A large room with abroken ceiling. Many great marblepieces, former pieces of the ceiling, liescattered about the room. There aretwo entrances to the room, one on thewest, guarded by one Troglodyte andanother on the south, guarded by twoTroglodytes watching from the top ofthe stairs. Inside the room there areseveral huts where the Troglodytesrest. During the day, most of the hutsare filled with sleeping Troglodytes. Atnight, when the Troglodytes are moreactive, most of them are exploring theTomb of the Bull King and only 1d6Troglodytes can be found in the huts.Encounters: This room is the lair ofmore than thirty Troglodytes. At nightthe Troglodytes leave the area ingroups of several warriors to explorethe Tomb of the Bull King. Normallythey go east towards section 120. If theguards detect the heroes, they warntheir comrades and after two rounds allthe Troglodytes from Section 8 join thefight. After five rounds, two Troglodytesfrom Section 9 arrive, although they willretreat to protect Ancpah if the heroesare winning the fight.
